I am tired. Gaga, why?

I'm bored with my life? More like I'm concerned for her

No this isn't about her. If it was about her you would say "wow Gaga seems to be really excited about all these political happenings! I may not know much about them but good for her!" Instead you're worried that she's making mistakes by simply living her life. If you love her, don't question her judgement when it comes to something so frivolous.

I don't know much about them? I don't know much about politics, or how it works? I don't know much about the absolute designed poison that is politics? Ok

I respectively disagree. This isn't how John Lennon was at all. He promoted peace through his actions, and music. He did not do any of this in this form. He was revolutionary. I think everyone is missing the point of this. I'm saying that she's gone a 180 in her direction, and I think it's a mask. If you're an artist, musician, your most effective medium is your ART. I'm saying that I don't understand why she's not using her amazing creative side to spread her message, not politics.

Omg see you only care about new music and when you're gonna get it. John Lennon didn't always use music when he was fighting for just causes. Besides, if she's still working on the music (which we know she is) why would she release it if it wasn't ready? Cus God knows if she puts out a crappy album everyone's gonna say she should've took more time

No. I care about the revolutionary potential through art. I care about people, real views, and not propaganda. I care about, "the music not the bling"

I was giving an example of the kind of thing you could've said if you actually were supporting her and not supporting your own thirst for new music. If Gaga doesn't care about putting out new music right now, then that's it. No need to be worried about something with such little consequence.

Yes but you disappeared for 1-2 years only to come back and bash her :toofunny:

Because she stops making quality music and becoming a nasty politician I don't know.

If you are tired, don't ask "Gaga why?" cause she is certainly not the reason why you are "tired". You better ask yourself tho.

@Jed I really don't think @Domino started the thread because of a thirst for new music. If he did, the post would have looked like 10,000 other posts we've already seen that say:

"who cares about Hillary and Hollywood gimme those LG5 bops now!!!1!!11!!!"

Instead the OP is really just saying, if you want to get political, and really make a difference using your unique voice, do it through your music. Not by preaching partisan political views.

Again, I've got no issues myself with what she's doing, but Domino's sentiment here is a legitimate position. She's an artist, not a politician. And artists who become political have a fine line to walk before they become perceived as being "preachy" instead of "inspiring."

REALITY

She's turning into the "John Lennon" of this generation. I never said she was the "John Lennon" of this generation, for all we know, LG5 could be a whole song about peace and love, for all we know, she could have her own version of Imagine. The point I was trying to make about the Lennon comparison was that she's spreading a message of love and peace, while that's certainly something every other artist does, she does it in such a way where you know that she means every word. She's also been doing it so frequently that there is also the possibility that she will turn into a "John Lennon" sort of figure, as far as I know, she's the only other current artist to have a tattoo dedicated to him on their body.

I understand your views on how she's approaching these messages, and you do bring up some valid points about how she should use her more "creative side" to spread these messages, but using a platform like politics, like making videos, etc. are not only easier ways of spreading her message, but in my opinion, they can be more effective ways.

Her being so upfront and so frank about these topics aren't masked by her art, they're statements she believes in and things she wants to promote. It's a way of just saying "This is what I believe and this is how I want to make an impact in today's society". Look at the meat dress, it's purpose was political and showed Gaga's distaste for the Don't ask, Don't Tell policy, it was artistic, yet people focus on the fact that she was wearing raw meat and didn't focus on her message behind it. Sometimes being the most frank and straight-forward about things is the better way to go.

She always planned for ARTPOP to be the end of the first chapter of her life/career and we're now witnessing the second chapter. She's had this all planned for a while. ARTPOP was supposed to wrap up everything she did before it. LG5 will be the first album in her second chapter.

Lady Gaga is a legend and you will deal with it
