I love her for spreading such positive messages and being so kind and a beautiful soul... BUT... I feel like she should be far more pragmatic in how she approaches things. If she wants to be taken seriously as some kind of pseudo-politician, she needs to start saying more than "just be nice".

I was hoping she would have some interesting ideas to talk about at the meeting with the Dalai Lama, but it was just business as usual. She doesn't propose any physical action besides being kind. And while that's a lovely sentiment, it's not something that anyone can take seriously, especially the group of mayors they were speaking to.

She should be more fun and irreverent on social media...her constantly harping on like she's annie Lennox is so unappealing. 

Fame led her to develop a martyr complex she is constantly trying to save the world and talking in a faux humble manner in interviews. It's bizarre. She should learn to relax like adele.

i think that the projects of the BTW foundation and the city of kindness initiative are not just, as you put it, "lovely sentiments." they are "physical actions" to build a social infrastructure that will help change the status quo and build a braver and kinder world.

The city of kindness initiative is not something she proposed, it's been around for years. And the BTWF projects, while for a good cause, are not enough to wake up the world. They function like any charity fundraising projects.

I'm not having a go at her, because I truly love how kind and generous she is and it makes me so, so proud to be a fan. I get frustrated that her discussions about kindness and compassion do not amount to actual strategies for real change... but then again, how do you quantify kindness and get solid results? It's no easy task. So I can understand why she keeps things simple. But I still think she is capable of much more.

i think you don't give her enough credit or you expect too much from her. she can't change the word by herself. what she can do is contribute, and that's precisely what she's doing. 

you answered you own question: you can't quantify kindness, so i'm not sure what you mean by "real change." you don't think that the lives saved by the BTWF or BTW, for that matter, count as real change? i can assure you that at a micro level their projects are achieving real change, thus contributing to kinder and braver world (macro level). 

she's voicing her opinion and using her platform more and more. let's appreciate that. remember: she's changing the world one sequin at a time.

I love this Gaga, she's sort of turning into the our generation's "John Lennon", and rightfully so, she does have a tattoo dedicated to him after all.

I love her talks about peace, love, and compassion, she's really trying to use her voice to make some positive changes in the world, I wish the media would focus on more on this instead of talking about other celebrities' love lives for instance.
