Well yeah, but if you win a war, you win a war. What the Supreme Court said was that there is no legal way for a state to secede without the consent of the rest of the country, which is never going to happen. It's not like Texas isn't already an embarrassment. The process would be the same as adding a state. Referendum in the state, approval by congress and president. Scotland very almost left the UK through a popular vote, and probably will vote for independence when they have their next referendum in a few years.
