Man died after a crowd of bystanders pulled him from a car after he reportedly had a heart attack at the wheel and crashed into a restaurant

Bystanders in Tel Aviv on Saturday night beat an unconscious man who had caused a deadly traffic accident at a restaurant, believing he was a Palestinian attacker.

The man, who later died, is believed to have had a heart attack at the wheel, causing him to lose control of his car and crash at high speed into a busy Chinese restaurant in Tel Aviv’s Ben Yehuda street on Saturday night.

The crash killed two customers at the cafe, a man in his 40s and another in his 60s, and injured six others.

Immediately following the crash, bystanders pulled the unconscious driver from the car and began beating him, believing that he was a Palestinian who had driven into the restaurant on purpose, according to the restaurant owner’s wife.

“The restaurant was filled with white dust. At first, I thought it was maybe a terror attack,” Shosha San told Israel’s Channel 10 on Saturday night.

“They thought that the driver was not a good person, they beat him,” she said.

I would normally be furious at the mob but, unfortunately, that's what they are accustomed to over there. I would have definitely thought it was intentional and probably would have reacted the same.

Wow

You would've beaten unconscious man to death and not let police to do their job?

Taking the law in own hands is dangerous.

Laws of nature trumps (ugh!) Laws of man. Had I seen my life flash before my eyes... yes, I would have done it all. No one could or ever would defend me like I could. Forgive the racist statement, but calling the cops are for white people where I'm from.

Edit: ok, not an UNCONCIOUS man.

Well don't worry, cops or army in Israel wouldn't be gentle if the driver would've been Palestinian. If everyone would react the same there would be no need for justice system (not that Israel is just, just saying).

Idk why are you talking about defending, the person was unconscious? Yeah he crashed but the logical thing to do is run, call cops and ambulance for everyone injured...they were probably nearby anyway.

I agree with everything you said but I'm not logical in these situations. My mom used to give me money when I was little in case I got robbed, I would have something to give them and they won't kill me. I used to tell her to not waste her time cuz I'm not giving them SHET. She would panic and beg me to do as she wished.

Thank God I was never robbed cuz I would be dead.

I completely ovelooked the unconscious part initially but then I fixed it. I can't abuse of anyone unconscious unless I beat them unconcious myself.

That's sad. But considering Tel Aviv was hit by bloody terrorist attack, they been just very aware and afraid for more i guess.

I understand, but I just want to say, it's never good to join an angry mob, there's always big chance of someone innocent getting hurt or often killed. Last year they lynched Eritrean refugee...'by mistake'...
