California was the world's eighth-largest economy as of last year, according to Irena Asmundson, chief economist of the California Department of Finance. The nation's most populous state has outpaced the rest of the U.S. on job growth. Its gross state product was $2.46 trillion, with 4.1 percent of state growth this year in real terms, according to the state's finance department. Nationally, gross domestic product grew by 2.4 percent in 2015. I'm not sure how it works tbh We're the United States and everywhere else in the world, a state is a country. We're just a union with 50 countries (and a few territories) working together lol. Wow! You can thank the Sillicon Valley and its big actors. France can't compete with all the startup created in this area or the amazing groth of Google, Tesla, etc. California is also topping France at something : inequalities. If you take Hollywood and Silicon Valley off, California is a big mess economically and socially.
