 I don't know if this is where I'm supposed to post this or if I'm even allowed to post this because of the rule change but I felt like I needed to share this.

Watched this earlier today. Cringed so hard.

People DO realize that people on the terrorist watch list have committed no crimes? They've done nothing wrong. There are 1.1 million people on the list that have committed no crime whatsoever. They were post on an arbitrary list by a panel of unelected bureaucrats. The people put on that list who have done nothing wrong should have less conceptional rights?

I'm not against them being monitored, but you do realize that the Terrorist Watch List is sued all the time because so many Americans are put on there arbitrarily and by mistake. They shouldn't have less freedoms because of it.

We need to actually have an FBI and intelligence community that can dig up evidence to actually press charges.

 I normally like Hannah, but she's a tad off base in what she's saying in the beginning - I understand where she's coming from, but she's being far too black and white about it. There's 7 billion people in the world, and to say that there is only one way to react and care in response to a previously unfathomable situation is ridiculous.

Yeah or protection if someone is trying to murder you?

Anyways, Hannah sounds like a moron here. She's not even allowing other people to grieve in the way they want to naturally grieve a national tragedy.

Assault Rifles were not made for protection and do not work well for personal protection, they were designed for military use, they fire too fast for it to be safe in any situation a civilian would be in, they are completely over-powered for civilian use, and will most likely not even be used for protection. x

And she isn't really attacking anyone's grieving process, she says "prayers and thoughts are wonderful and important and good," she acknowledges that people need to grieve but that we also need to take action and prevent things like this from happening.

  I'm going to play devils advocate here for a second. People get guns to take to take to shooting ranges - it's a hobby. People also do archery as a hobby too - a bow is just as much a deadly weapon as a gun. There are hundreds of people with guns and they do nothing wrong with them ever.

   The point is, a man did this - if not with a gun he could've attacked in many other ways, he could've used explosives, he could've set the place on fire, he could've just rammed his car into the club and there are countless other ways he could've caused mass harm.

   Just because we get rid of guns doesn't mean we are guaranteed to stop more tragedies from happening, because at the end of the day it was a person who committed these heinous acts - a deeply disturbed person who had to have terrible mental issues to carry such an act out. People like that will exist whether there are guns or no guns, and they will find a means other than guns if they are that determined.

   I'm not saying I disagree with requiring stricter gun laws - but that alone won't solve any problems. It's a much deeper issue than just guns.

This. There's no other reason why a person would want to own such destructive weapons. Hand guns are enough to protect you from people breaking into your home, a military grade assault rifle is just unnecessary. 

Thinking that all Americans are responsible enough to carry a military grade assault rifle or even a hand gun is stupid. We just witnessed a woman not even being able to take care of her own kid at the Zoo.

America's society is just not in the right place to carry guns around. They can't even stop themselves from outraging when Starbucks doesn't wish them Merry Christmas.

Guess what. We had an assault weapons ban in this country of about a decade. Did it do ANYTHING to actually curb gun violence? No. Did it decrease the frequency of shootings? Was there an increase in violence after it wasn't renewed? No. Why wasn't it renewed? Because nobody was actually able to provide any evidence whatsoever that it actually DID anything.

Why do people still insist of policies that have been proven to fail in recent history? Democrats must know that banning assault weapons will do nothing to stop violent crime.

Gun violence has never been more of an issue though. Whatever decade that was surely did not have a mass shooting once every few months.

Gun violence has never been more of an issue though. Whatever decade that was surely did not have a mass shooting once every few months. 

 

If not cutting off the supply of guns, how else would you suggest this issue be dealt with? You can just be complacent in never ending innocent deaths
