My team upon reaching Poni Island (4th Island)

Shiinotic : Lvl 40

Charjabug : Lvl 38

Drifblim : Lvl 39

Incineroar : Lvl 40

Crabrawler : Lvl 38

Toxapex : Lvl 39

In terms of the story level pokemon fights and my pokemon team, I'm slightly underleveled by 2-3 Levels. That last 'story-boss' had pokemon around Lvl 41 right before reaching Poni Island.

So far I haven't used a single Z-Move and turned Exp-Share Off to make it a bit more challenging on myself.

I'm currently on the 3rd island. Had to stop doing the storyline because I caught a Ditto and have been egg-hatching non-stop. I can't help it, I'm terribly obsessed with having appropriate natures/move sets. For my initial team, it isn't such a big deal. But a few of them had really problematic natures and so I'd prefer investing time in a Pkmn with a better spread.  Really can't wait to get a Destiny Knot/the Power items.

And is it just me, or is EV training a lot harder now that they took away Horde battles and Super training? The SOS fights are such a headache, especially against Ghastlys.

Honestly, fvck waiting.   I'm playing this on my O3DS and I just have to endure the dropped framerate.

I just arrived at Akala Island.

 

Here are my first thoughts on the early game..

I like how the characters are colorful and have a lot of personality in them. The puns  It's a huge jump from Gen V if we dont count Gen VI's bland characters. 

And holy hell, boy did I underestimate the trials.   The totem battle was so intense I love it  Although the framerates were dogshit   And I had to challenge Hala twice cause I never saw that Z-Move coming  

So far, the best early game I had since Black 2

Just wait until you meet up with regular trainers that can use Z-Moves

Also for those who just got the game, I have an opinion on two pokemon so far:

Vikavolt line:

If you want a Vikavolt, you'll really need to dig down deep because you'll have that Charjabug on your team for quite a while. You can only evolve Chajabug when you reach the 4th Island/Poni Island. But Its really worth it if you stay determined

Crabrawler line:

If you have the patience of a saint and love pain and suffering pick up this pokemon. You wont be able to evolve it until you make your way to the very final area and its really not worth it.

Litten  Ever since I saw that cutie patootie in the first reveal/leak I was sold  A part of me was really close to picking Rowlett because that final evolution looks kick ass
