It depends on the situation. If it's like this where she's walking by real fast, then yea.

In these situations she sometimes doesn't even stop for people with gifts, only quick photos and she's on her way. So it would be foolish not to just take the photo with her. But if I met her in a different setting without a million screaming fans and had at least a few seconds with her, then I'd just tell her how much she means to me and stuff like that. And maybe ask her to sign my arm (I wanna get it tattooed)

I wasn't going to post this here but f*uck it.

I actually had a dream a few nights ago that I met her, and she was walking right past us (the fans) who were all taking pics of her, and I shouted "Gaga I don't want a photo, I just wanna shake your hand and say hello!" and she elegantly turned around, slowly walked back over to me, shook my hand, and we said hello. And for some reason in my dream I could speak French, so we started speaking secretly in French so the other fans couldn't understand   and then she whispered for me to meet her at her hotel lobby at a certain time. I went there and someone came down and got me and took me to her room, and I sat on her big comfy bed with her and we talked about... I don't remember what but it was 'deep'   and we spoke about how we had known each other in a past life. It was very strange, and I don't often dream. But there you go.

On topic: I dunno. I like the idea of a photo to prove that it really did happen, because those things can feel like a dream, but I agree with her when she said "do you realise when you stop and take a photo together the moment has just died". Because so many times I look back at a photo and realise that this strange thing has happened: I now only have memories of looking at the photo over and over, rather than memories of the actual event/meeting/moment. It's kinda better to remember in your brain and let your mind do what it wants with the memories in some ways, than to have the memories distorted by a photo that over time becomes the memory, or replaces the memory in your conscious... if that even makes sense?

OT: I've never been huge on pictures anyway so I wouldn't really mind not snapping that selfie...I'd love an autograph so much more than a picture...some of the faces she pulls in fan pics are  anyway lol. That's assuming I approach her in the first place. I have no idea what I'd tell her aside from the stupid fan rambling like, she'd be there getting a coffee or something and I'd walk up with shaky hands screaming "OH MY GOD I LOVE YOU SO MUCH YOUR MUSIC HAS CHANGED MY LIFE WILL YOU SIGN MY FOIL COPY OF ARTPOP?!?!"

Regardless, I'm sure she understands when people ask her for things like that. It might be annoying but she probably did the same thing before she was famous. After all, she wanted to bring back the "super fan"

the problem is how many fans just look at selfies as trophies.  Grab them and go and post on twitter like they bagged a wild animal in a hunt.  What celebrity would want to be involved in that?

I always find it funny when people brag that they "met" Gaga and their proof is a selfie snapped with a typical fan crowd.  That's not "meeting" Gaga, it's taking and not giving.  Hopefully you at least told her how much you appreciate her work first.

I think this is what she's really sick of tbh. She's spoken before saying "I'm worth more than just my image" and other things on this topic. If I met her my top priority would be to tell her how much she and her work means to me. LAST priority would be having a trophy picture to post on social media for bragging rights. It'd be nice to have as a memory, but bragging rights is not what I'm after!

I would love a deep conversation with Gaga, and at the end, politely ask for a photo. If she says no, that's her decision but it would disappoint me, as I would love a photo to commemorate the day I met my idol. But I would still respect her wishes ❤

I agree, 100%. All I want is to have that initial connection where I can sincerely thank her for her work and communicate to her how much she helped me become the person I am today from growing up with her art. After that, I can get a photo if the moment allows it, but I will not let it consume the moment. I need Gaga to know that connection is more important to me than the 'social capitol' I can gain from capturing her image as digital property. (If that makes sense )
