The transparency :air:

By Captain Nemo. The entire channel is anti-feminist propaganda and its pretty radical and mostly entirely bullshit as well :emma:

This actual segment was already discussed. I don't think it's sexist, nor do most people, and are we really assuming this is coming from feminists just because a woman asked the question? I get that some MRAs, MGTOW, etc.hate women AND feminists, but can we not conflate the two? :laughga:

You should be critical of your sources, especially when they so clearly have a massive effect on your belief system :duck:

It doesnt matter source the video is from, what matters is the actual video.. I also did not assume the woman who asked the question is a feminist because shes a woman, I assumed shes a feminist because of the question she asked.

It does matter, that's the whole point in pointing out bias; determining objectivity and subjectivity :saladga:

It's not just opinion, look at a contentious issue and see how it is reported by global media compared to how it is reported on by fox news, abc, msnbc, cnn, etc. There is bias in all of these and some of it is more blatant than others. Fox news is known for its pretty much unethical journalism in regards to bias on conservative ideas and issues. Like, its notorious, which for many people is enough to generally discredit them as objective sources about things.

Basically, they are not facts if they come from a source that is known for repeatedly lying about feminism and passing it off as truth :duck:

The question is not a feminist question, it has nothing to do with feminism as an ideology or a movement, you dont have to be a feminist to discuss sexism, and in fact people who would think Bernie is sexist for not dropping out of the race probably are NOT feminists (or at least good ones) because they've misunderstood what "sexism" is. Sexism would be if Bernie was not dropping out because he doesn't want a woman to win or thinks he deserves it more because he is a man and she is a woman, but thats not whats happening here at all and I think its QUITE a stretch to make that kind of argument.

The channel did not give their opinion, they just posted a video that happened so there is no biases.. and yes the person asked the question is a feminist regardless of weather shes a bad feminist or not but she does identify as one or let me say most likely identify as a feminist.

That's not how that works :laughga:

It's political framing; propaganda. If I just throw out "Is Donald Trump a racist? You tell me" and then post a video that is meant to CLEARLY paint him as a racist, it's a headline with ulterior motives... just like the title of this thread actually. It's supposed to paint feminists as irrational people (women) who just throw out the word sexism and make them appear radical or nonsensical.

Maybe I'm missing something, but she didn't say "Hey, acclaimed feminist here representing feminism with a question!" She just happened to be a woman asking the question. Maybe she does identify as a feminist, but Feminism is not a hive-mind or monolith of people that all believe the same thing about everything, so you putting the thread title as "FeministS (plural)TELL Bernie he's sexist for running against Hilary" is framing the issue in a misleading manner and it exposes your ulterior motives. Not only do we not know from the video or any sources you've provided if it's actually even a feminist speaking, but the woman did not actually say "You are a sexist for running against Hillary!" She asked a question (A pointed one possibly, but still) So its inaccurate.

"Female reporter voices concern about sexism to Bernie" or even better simply "Reporter asks Bernie about sexism" would be more accurate. The idea is to make the reader or viewer see the title and think "Oh those darn feminazi's, criticizing MY bernie? How dare they" blah blah blah. If the average reader already has a predisposition against feminism or feminists, you are providing fuel to power their closed off worldview where Feminists are all evil bra burners who hate men, which is promoting ignorance :rip:

It's dishonest. More reasons to be critical of not only the sources you use and the media you intake but what you are putting out into the world as well :sara:

How is the video propaganda? the video only shows a clip from an event with no given opinion and edits.. if you think there is a conspiracy behind the video, tell me how its propaganda. A liberal showing a video of Trump being racist is not propaganda, its proof of his racism regardless of the bias source.. its only propaganda if it says hes racist but the comments he said is not racist. The woman did not say shes a feminist and there is a 1% chance that shes not one but based on her question and the way she argued with him, shes clearly a Feminist SJW.

Feminists (not women) are irrational crazy people.. dont link women to feminism because they are two different things. The majority of women dont even identify as a feminist! not to mention feminism is not a gender, its a political movement. I would love to provide fuel to people to be against third wave feminism, this is not an ulterior motive, this is a motive that I made clear and im open about. I also clearly dont like Bernie at all as you claimed.

Ofcourse not all feminists are like that but its a recurring theme and issue that concerns many including me. I am a muslim and I do admit that muslims do have a big problem with their ideology even though these muslims with bad ideology are in the small minority but it is a big concern as they have a big effect in the world. Christina Hoff Sommers is an amazing feminist that I love for example.

I guess that would make Hillary Clinton an Anti-Semite for running against Sanders.

Open your eyes, Hillary doesn't want anyone to overlook the fact that she is a woman, she is going full steam with the Püssy Power message. Her entire speech tonight was about her gender, about the historical significance of a female major party candidate, about the suffragettes, the 19th Amendment, her Mother, her Daughter, trans women, Gloria Steinem, etc.

This is just wrong. It's entirely presumptuous and Idk how to explain that to you. Why do you think its only a 1% chance she's not a feminist? It's entirely more plausible that she's simply asking questions that she or her employers think people want to hear; thats usually how reporting works, its the point of press conferences; to act as mediums.

Again you are GENERALIZING. You cant just say "Feminists are crazy, but not all of them" and then continue to ACT like it means all of them :saladga: Also, calling feminists "crazy" is kind of ableist :rip:

I dont think I claimed you like Bernie, only that you are incorrectly and deliberately using this video to add fuel to your ignorant belief that feminists are evil or something; its dishonest, which is why people don't take things like this seriously. It's also disheartening because it shows that you don't even care enough to put in the effort of making an HONEST, supported argument against feminism. You just reframe issues to fit your views and post videos from unreliable sources :duck:

The reason that individual examples of feminists doing things that you deem "crazy" is a recurring theme is because of people you use as your sources like Captain Nemo. People actively dedicate their time and put in a lot of effort to discredit feminism and basically lie about what feminist means or who feminists are or what they stand for and you're just buying into it. People from 4chan and reddit will literally bombard websites, articles, comment sections, etc. in force and troll JUST for the sake of discrediting feminism, because it scares them and they are losers with nothing better to do :toofunny: It's actually not common. Most feminists don't hate men, most feminists are not just "SJW"s, tons of feminists are actual activists out there doing things in the name of feminism, but ofc if you follow reddit and 4chan and the tons of clearly sexist ideologies out there like MRA, MGTOW, MRM, thats what they are going to talk about because it's what informs all of their beliefs; Dishonesty, misinformation, ignorance. It's a deadly cycle.

Also, as I've told you before, Christina Hoff Summers is NOTORIOUSLY known as a person who claims to be a feminist but doesn't actually believe in almost anything related to feminism. That's the reason the only people who like her and use her as a source are people who are AGAINST feminism :laughga: Like, idk how else to explain that. She's all "Equality of the sexes, except we already have that in the West, and MEN are oppressed and FEMALE PRIVILEGE and the Wage gap is a myth!" and a bunch of stuff like that :smh: And the people who popularized these topics obviously support her. It's like "Yeah, I do feel disenfranchised, and you are legitimizing my claims so I'm going to look up to you!" :awkney: It's just true that we feel a connection to people that support our beliefs and we will go out of our way to defend them because we see them as an extension of our own belief systems.

(That was a bit harsh, but I digress :emma: )

You can be anti-feminist all you want, I just want you to make legitimate, honest arguments because then we could actually debate the subject instead of the methodology and rhetoric.

No one thinks sanders is actually a sexist for not ending his campaign here I'm pretty sure, and it's not useful to compare anti-semitism to sexism :emma:

Also... Yes, Hillary IS a woman :laughga: It's not what makes her very qualified to be president, but it is an important part of her character and bringing up the historical context behind it is still important to many people. It's not to say that because shes a woman sexism is over or w.e or that she will make women equal to men in her 4-8 years alone, but its a matter of representation, which IS important. It says something that a woman can win the presidency in America and be one of the most powerful leaders in the world, because in the past they couldn't. Look back 15 or 20 years and it would've been much less likely. It's a testament to the progress America and the world has made from our incredibly outdated views of women as lesser human beings :rip: I have trouble believing you don't know that already.

Hillary does champion gender equality though and its a huge part of her platform. Sure its not the only reason to vote for her, but I don't think its ever right to fault someone for voting for a candidate who claims to have their best interest in mind and shes shown that she has women's interests in mind and has all of her life pretty much.

She's saying "I understand your pain, and I'm going to fight for you" and there's nothing wrong or false about that.

I do think it was important she talk about gender during her speech, though she could've talked about more personally :emma:

Seriously though, I'm done with this thread. Pm me if you really feel like getting a response back

Did you watch the video in the OP's post? A reporter asks Sanders to reply to people who are claiming it is sexist for him to stay in the race. There are obviously left wing, mattress carrying, loons on social media who believe Sander's staying in the race is sexist. Which is as ridiculous an idea as implying Hillary is an anti-Semite for running against Sanders. That was my point.

For the record, I have no problem with Hillary acknowledging the historic nature of her campaign, and would love nothing more then for Püssy Riot to open for her at her next speech. So, retract your claws.

I openly admitted many times that yes it is a assumption that she is a feminist. As for the source, it doesnt matter, what matters is the content from the source. I cant reject any source from opposing point of view and claim its invalid! if there is a bias, you can and should easily call it out and reject that instead of the source.

Saying feminists are irrational and crazy does not mean im generalizing.. it just means that generally, thats how feminists act in my opinion and experience. When I say black people are funny, im not saying every single black person is funny, im saying generally, black people are funny without the need to explain all this. And I dont mind using ableist terms. My opinion on Feminism is not dishonest, that is really my opinion and what I believe and experienced, if you have a problem with my opinion then thats another subject but its not dishonest. You then accuse me of not caring to make an honest supported argument against feminism when we havent even attempted to take that step about arguing about feminism.

Ive never used or really know what reddit and 4chan is and im not an MRA or MGTOW but none of them are sexist. My judgment about feminists does not come from internet sources, it comes from what is happening around me on a daily basis like college campuses for example. People actually do take us anti feminist seriously thats why the percentage of people identify as a feminist goes down every year and even liberals and progressives are starting to reject them. The war now is not between liberals and conservatives, its between authoritarian and libertarians and Liberals and conservatives are uniting for this great cause that is threatened witch is freedom of speech. Dave Rubin is a great example of all this. Christina Hoff Summers is a feminists but what she doesnt believe in is third wave feminism and people who are anti feminist support her and she supports them because no matter how much they disagree, we all support freedom of speach. Christina rather be with people who support freedom instead of trigger warnings and safe spaces.
