Killa 17,460
What is so exciting about Lady Poop is how she sets herself to such unrealistic ideals. Though her transition has been a bit rough and she's in a middle position where she can't even prove her point. She must find a way for the machine to profit again from her while she defends her stance and uses them. One must ackwoledge none of this sounds nor easy nor even possible. But the girl can't be stopped. That's why she nutures our fantasies (sorry the english is bad but yeah

Aka fame is making her depressed. Would you rather he fake her emotions and say she's happy when she's not? Because that mindset is damaging. Yes Im talking "the easy" english because its not my main language.. Circumstances and brain chemistry do, but we decide how we will cope up with it, what we will do to make ourselves in better state again and make something about it. I said in replies, that It would have been great if she did the honest interview or something like that, and told the truth, what is she really feeling.. Of course i would rather like to see her doing something like that than some fake buls&hit

Yes, It is all in your head. People make themselves unhappy and depressed. You decide what will impact you, what will touch you and make you sad, you cant always blame everyone and everything Obviously it's not her job, but it's something that means a lot to her. By me saying that I mean at least she's not talking about what needs to be done, but isn't attempting to put any action into what she's preaching. Depression isn't definitely something people choose to have, it's brain chemical imbalance but you can believe whatever you want. Annways, have fun twisting people words, let me get back to work now. ✿ cherry blossom girl ✿

While I agree that no one person can change fame culture, I believe that she can bring attention to it. As for this, it's a completely valid argument. Fame isn't something everyone deals with, so who are you to say that she isn't really unhappy? All fame really is is to show more people about your internal struggles and problems, just because you're famous doesn't mean it's going to take all of your problems away. By the way, this is just a quick pet peeve of mine, but "depressed" is a strong word and serious mood disorder. I wouldn't go as far as to say "you make yourself depressed", it's just the struggles and insecurities you're dealing with that make it seem like you have no other option. You didnt understand my argument about fame and you said its valid then attacked it? That means you think its "invalid" not valid.

Luxe Ford 3,481
I don't think whe can change fame culture, but think it's admirable and important that she tries. LilVenusian 579
Living a rich, lavish life in the spotlight has drawbacks but so does every career/lifestyle. Many people don't have the opportunity to pursue their dreams or be creative because they are stuck in a rut having to pay the bills and just get by. Some people are never praised and supported for what they do and she has thousand of fans, including me that will cherish her work/artistry to the end of her career. She should learn to appreciate more of what she has or maybe she should consider living more privately. No or less public social media, move out of Hollywood, go the indie route(her record contract should be expiring soon), don't choose to star in huge television shows/release albums every other year, take an official hiatus, dont do big money/publicity grabbing arena tours for every single album and try to attract a smaller, more hardcore fan base instead of millions of fair weather casual fans who are probably the ones "just looking for a photo". Just look at someone like Kate Bush or even Sia who has taken active steps to protect her privacy . It is very possible. It would no doubt be a difficult transition but if its for her overall happiness/mental health I support it 100%. I don't want her to end up like Prince or MJ. I want to see her live a long, healthy and happy life.

Lord Temptation 11,209
Gaga has taught me that anyone who has the balls to follow the path of love can go anywhere they like. Even where no-one else has been before.
Speechless94 545
2 hours ago, Son of ARTPOP said: Sorry, but what matters is actually staying true to yourself. She was miserable exactly because she was playing by the rules. She was smart enough to exploit them and really embody the perfection everyone falls in love with, but ultimately she wasn't just that image, that costume. She was just well aware of the process, but it didn't prevent her from falling prey to it. I believe it's her faith to be that polarising girl/woman/artist/figure always trying to do more. That's what makes her passionate. Following her intuition and inner desires. Sometimes she may try to reinvent the wheel and succeed or fail, sometimes she may follow the status-quo. But it's all about her principles, not what society/the industry/whoever wants from her. And it's the same with the 9 to 5 people. Do you think all these people, and we are also part of this population, want to work and live like that? Many just don't have a choice. Others don't have the guts to follow their heart and passion. Let me ask you, if it wasn't for the money, if you didn't need money to live, would you ever work on a 9 to 5 job for your whole life? Cause just the thought of it gets me depressed. And unfortunately, many people never get the chance to look up in the sky and feel free. (from this perspective Gaga really seems like a lucky person, she is tbh, but there is also another truth in life - the higher in the hierarchy you are, the stronger the storm. I.e. she faces other challenges in life and it ain't easier. Hardship is for everyone ) This 100% I think it's also important to remember that people like Gaga and other artists/celebrities of her caliber are the ones who create and emulate fame and fame culture. Who does the media and people like all of us follow and keep up with on a daily basis? Celebrities and artists. Gaga herself couldn't change culture but when you have a enough people of that same level or success who are on the same page as Gaga, the ones who actually create the standards, you can make an incredible difference Imagine if fashion designers started phasing out skinny as the ideal. They totally have the power to change that, they just don't. Imagine if record labels and promoters decided, lets put something genuine out there that isn't filtered S**t top 40 pop, and give someone with real talent a chance to be discovered. They could, they just don't. Looking at what Gaga said at the Emotional Revolution Summit, imagine if social media execs decided that instead of censoring a female nipple (or something along those lines) they would censor hate speech and bullying. They could, they just don't. I think the slight awkwardness that's in that clip is because Gaga is basically saying we, the two people sitting here, are the one's who can start to change the way people perceive what is important and valued in pop culture. The only difference is one believes she can do it, and is willing to make strides towards that, while the other doesn't recognize they're playing into the problem. People like us, we are not the ones who create standards, we just enhance and enforce what the media focuses on. I think a lot of the ideas behind ARTPOP tie in here with her push for a creative rebellion. If enough people change the way they think, and change inspire other people to change in the same way, you have something really powerful. It's definitely possible to change fame culture, Gaga's point is that it just needs to be acted upon. The only way it will ever change is if people stop saying what Jamie Lee Curtis said, that it's not possible, and just start pushing for it to happen. Sister 9,907
The industry would kill Gaga before they'd allow her to change it, let's be honest. It would start with a full on unraveling of all that she has achieved and they'd ruin everything that she has ever been known for in high praise. Watch this happen if she tries things out of the rules. The future's uncertain and the end is always near.
