Gagadonna 10,801
I always thought MANiCURE could've been a hit. Too bad. but I feel like MANiCURE is more Poker Face's rocker little sister than Just Dance's

This is interesting to me because MANiCURE reminds me of the color red, so seeing it performed with a green backdrop was jarring. As soon as I heard the studio version of MANiCURE it felt very oldga/Famega mixed with some rocker attitude. I think it's the most 'The Fame' sounding song off ARTPOP, and if someone were to somehow skip TFM and BTW eras and go to ARTPOP, I think it'd sound the most familiar. It's got that boppy, poppy, repetitive, catchy, feel to it that The Fame had, and with the same frivolous, youthful, party-girl attitude to it, but with a gruntier rock twist. And I was thinking about the songs meanings: Just Dance is about going out, getting wasted, and and dancing away your worries. MANiCURE is about getting dolled up with the girls, and going out to find a man to have some fun with to forget your worries (and be man-cured. ) I dunno they both have a kind of 'go out and be naughty and youthful and have some fun to get over what is bothering you' kind of vibes Except MANiCURE is 100000000x better than Just Dance. That's like saying jessie j is the rock version of Mariah carey... I tried and I tried and I tried to like MANiCURE and it just didn't happen. I laughed into anemia. I definitely think it's underrated, and that it would've gone over sooooo well on radio. A sexy, boppy, catchy, stuck-in-your-head pop-rock song about being slutty and having fun getting dressed up and catching a man? The word play of MANiCURE/man-cure. It's so radio friendly. So GP friendly. Exactly. I still think that it would've smashed as a summer single. It's not really one of my favorites off the album, but I definitely think it would have been a great single choice. mic 1,415
MANiCURE surely lil inspired by JD in terms of structure , however I cannot get why they basically copied one HSM instrumental in it. One of her least creative songs
