LebaneseDude 6,146 Posted June 3, 2016 Share Posted June 3, 2016 Via Mediaite During a conversation on CNN about investigating Hillary Clinton‘s use of a private email server, Trump campaign senior adviser Barry Bennett casually tossed out waterboarding. “She has continued to lie about it,” Bennett told CNN’s Kate Bolduan. “She told us the lawyers signed off on it. The Inspector General said that’s not true. She said she would cooperate with all the investigations. She stonewalled the IG and now everyone’s taken the fifth. You couldn’t get the truth out of Hillary if you waterboarded her!” What?” a visibly shocked Bolduan replied. “You couldn’t get the truth out of her with a waterboard,” he repeated. “And you brought in waterboarding!” Bolduan said. On the campaign trail, Trump has spoken many of times of his willingness to use waterboarding and techniques “worse than waterboarding”. SKANK 14,288 Posted June 3, 2016 Share Posted June 3, 2016 Again and again people blinded with contempt for Trump are playing right into his game by attempting to create scandals out of offensive comments made by his campaign. It doesn't work. No one cares. We know no one cares because he won his party's nomination and he is holding his own against Clinton in national polls. No one cares about offensive off the cuff remarks. By focusing on meaningless bullshit you are only muddying the waters, and making it harder for legitimate criticism of his policy positions to stick. Someone at his campaign making an off color joke about torturing Clinton is no where near as offensive or headline worthy as Trump's actual position on torture, which in case you didn't know, was that we ought expand laws in order to make torture more brutal because "we have to beat the savages."
