A little disheartening actually. She's always spoke about Fame and technology in such a wonderful way and now it's like she's turning it all on its head. I understand what she's saying but it's just so weird. I want her happy though.

Does anyone else find it a little strange that they just talked about how they don't like being objectified by the public, and then the show ends with the bet & the awkward "I'm betting with Lady Gaga... on national television!"? Like, was she (Jamie) making a joke there that didn't come off as one to me or..? To me it's just like, that is the equivalent and epitome of the 'selfie' moment they were talking about earlier in the clip. Was that the point of her joke or was she just contradicting herself? 😭

Maybe she learned from ARTPOP that trying to be a goddess for a bunch of ungrateful fans ever ends well, and has since changed her mind?

I love how deliberate her words are and how she really puts effort to express herself the best way she can even when she knows she contradicts viewpoints she'd made years ago. 
As many have already said it here before, the effects fame had on her has definitely changed her opinion about it and she really is distancing herself from its pulling effect and with this goes also the breathing space along she built up to her fans after ARTPOP. I guess she'll never really see us as Little Monsters again as she has used to during her early eras but tbh that's okay! Actually it's so delighting to see her as an independent woman. It seems like she isn't a slave to her depression anymore and is actually caring to not float on the surface of the river of fame without having control in which direction she'll be floated. You can see that she is mentally stable and she actively strives to live a healthy, regular, maybe ordinary (to us at least) life.
Obviously we as fans are in a situation rn where our patience and maturity is asked like never before. We know many things have changed when it comes to the concept of her next album but do we really know if we are ready for LG5? At the end of the day only those will be ready who remain still being a dedicated fan to her personality and values after this straining wait full of ups and downs because they've proved their maturity and their ability to genuinely understand her as a human being.

I understand how Gaga feels, but to be fair, she did create this whole identity where she was some sort of 'pop goddess who came down from the sky', who was superhuman and stuff. Who can blame us for treating her that way?

I'm not sure what she means by changing fame culture, but if she thinks she can stop people from taking selfies and make them have 'real conversations' with her instead, then she's sadly mistaken. The very nature of fame objectifies the celebrity and it's always been that way, ever since the very early days of Hollywood cinema. Fans of any artist would want their picture with them, and I don't think that's some sort of vain, millennial thing... it's pretty normal and expected. I mean, I'd love to have the chance to sit down with Gaga and have a 'real conversation' with her, but when am I ever going to get that chance?? If I'm lucky enough to meet her, I imagine I'd have ten seconds tops with her... so I'm obviously going to get a selfie or an autograph to record it.

Sorry, I just don't see their point of view. I think they're very fortunate people whining about nothing. You can have real conversations with your friends and family. The objective nature of fans and the media is just part of the job, so suck it up, you're getting paid millions.

I understand what you're saying. Yea she will always have her close friends and family to have real conversations. But, it must feel incredibly isolating and frustrating to constantly be meeting people who act fake towards her or treat her like an upper level being. Her close friends and family are only a small percentage of all the human interactions she has in a day. And she has had friends in the past whi turned on her after she became famous.

That's true, and yes it's understandably hard for her and many other celebrities/artists. However, when they're getting paid millions upon millions of dollars and are in the top 5% richest people in the world, the shallow side of fame is simply something they have to put up with and something they shouldn't whine about. Money never comes easy (unless you win the lottery).

It's a negative aspect of fame....'Most' people react and interact with her 'media' persona and completely ignore the fact that she is a regular human being.

Money is not the most important thing in the world though for happiness. Psychology tells us that relationships are, the very thing that fame threatens the most.

I agree with that. But when Gaga was at a crossroads a couple of years ago and was deciding whether to quit music altogether, she decided to keep doing it. Money probably wasn't her motivating factor, but she still chose 'the fame' at the end of the day. She could have easily retired and lived a happy, stress-free life with real relationships... but she didn't. Fame is a choice and I really struggle to sympathise with people who complain about it and yet profit greatly from it.

I'm not so sure about that.  She told Jamie Lee that she would be working on her creative expression regardless of her fame level.  Music is at the center of that creative drive.   She may have considered dropping out of music 'publication' tho, since that is were the fans come from.

I feel like once someone becomes famous (especially as famous as Gaga) there is no turning back. Besides, Gaga loves to make music and share it with people. She cant not do that anymore. It just happens that the type of job she wants has a byproduct of fame.
