Morphine Prince 109,991 Posted May 31, 2016 Share Posted May 31, 2016 Donald Trump said on Tuesday that the Cincinnati Zoo likely made the right call to kill a gorilla that picked up a 4-year-old boy who fell into its exhibit. “I think it’s a very tough call,” the presumptive Republican presidential nominee told reporters at Trump Tower in Manhattan during a news conference, which was called to discuss his fundraising for veterans’ charities. “I will tell you they probably had no choice,” he added. Last weekend, the Cincinnati Zoo sparked a furious online debate when it killed Harambe, the gorilla who had manhandled the small boy who had fallen into the animal’s pen. Animal rights activists and others faulted the zoo for taking such drastic measures, while others argued that deadly force was appropriate to save the boy’s life. For his part, Trump said he was struck by the footage of Harambe, who weighed more than 400 pounds, holding the boy. “It was amazing because there were moments with the gorilla, the way he held the child, it was almost like a mother holding a baby. The gorilla was dragging the child around and regardless if it was trying to protect it or not it was still damaging the child. Humans are so stupid sometimes, BLM protesters get called savages for protesting about the relentless unreasonable killing of unarmed black people but as soon as 1 gorilla who was harming a child is shot then people are up in arms. Watch your kids and up the security Even if you were watching your kids its still hard to keep them from doing stuff like this, if you've lived around younger kids you know they climb on EVERYTHING they can, it's a pain in the ass. Didymus 34,380 Posted May 31, 2016 Share Posted May 31, 2016 What was less of a tough call actually, was the far less publicized event of a man willingly jumping into a lion's den, provoking the lions so they'd attack him, and the lions ending up being killed to save the man's life, despite his suicidal intentions. Happened just a week ago. Didn't hear the protests then. I guess the public falls for the "gorilla tries to take care of a baby and gets murdered" storyline. Dumb. I've taken kids to places like the zoo, Sea World, Universal, and watched them when someone took me to Disney (aka Hell on Earth) so I know the struggle. KyliesChild 16,907 Posted May 31, 2016 Share Posted May 31, 2016 Something similar could've happened to me when I was 6 since I was at a Seaquarium and I saw a beautiful orca whale and I wanted to pet it and I climbed the fence and this old lady grabbed me and started yelling at me. I can't even swim. I have never seen anyone talking about the suicidal man who climbed the lion fence. That was quite idiotic. I wished that this never happened. If it were their kids in this situation, they wouldn't think twice before killing the animal. If it were them having to flee their country from terrorists, they wouldn't think twice before taking the first way out.
