Artists especially get BETTER with age. Their mastery of their craft and their devotion to their passion, whatever their art is, usually improves and becomes more refined with time.

Untrue statement based on a very personal point of view, you seem to be treating artists as an elite supergroup of human beings.

One more thing, she's been working with RedOne, the producer with whom she started it all, so all these "she has moved on" statements make no sense to me.

She just does whatever the fück she wants, she doesn't give 2 cents. Let alone all this evolution / 30s / 40s theory.

I didn't ask for a free ride, I only asked you to show me a real good time.

I agree. Bjork is an absolutely amazing artist where each work of hers manages to look into the lives of humanity in a different way, every time. But, Bjork releases an album on average every 4-5 years. Gaga, to me, is growing like Bjork in terms of talent, ideas, artistic endeavors, etc. I respect Gaga taking time with her albums because it's truly her work and not team-mass produced in a studio, and I'll gladly wait for the next one.

Dear Little Monsters,

Human beings & especially Artists go through phases of their lives. They grow up. They evolve. They mature. Gaga just turned 30. Just Dance came out 8 years ago, when she was 22. She probably recorded "The Fame" when she was 21.

Speaking for myself and having witnessed a lot of other people go through their twenties, your early to mid twenties are a Peak Phase of your life. It is only lived once. I think from about 21 to 28 or 29, you have a peak developmental phase of extreme amounts of risk taking, recklessness, creativity, restlessness, confusion, experimentation, drug & sex exploration, and rampant narcissism. It's a phase. It's a FABULOUS phase, don't get me wrong. But it is a phase, and as you grow up, as you mature into yourself as an adult, your early to mid twenties becomes a bookmark in your life of all the things that were the best, most exciting, most creatively exploratory, self-indulgent, confused and crazy times of your life... Never to be repeated again. You learned your lessons during that peak developmental phase of your life. You learned that XYZ were things that really don't work for you, and you learn about yourself, you learn about yourself as an artist, you learn about your strength, the character of your spirit, and the inexhaustible flame of your passion.... I think this is especially true for an artist like Gaga.

----

One last note: I don't think that people hit 30 years old and all of the sudden "grow up" and lose all their passion, wildness, free-spiritedness, and inspiration. Absolutely NOT.

True

I guess they want another Madonna/Britney, they expect Gagz to be 60 and still doing Just Dance 45.0 and Bad Romance 69.0 & mindless bops, wtf bitch, that's why we have Katy Perry, move on & stan Katy if you don't like the path Gaga choose.

Ironically, Madonna's best works are BedTime Stories, Ray of Light & Music, those were mature albums, and her worst albums are MDNA, Rebel Heart & HC, where she acts like she has ****ing 15/23 yrs old, lmfao

We haven't even HEARD the songs, and people are complaining. "Omg I NEED REDONE OTHERWISE IM NOT INTERESTED" "Mark Ronson and Nile Rodgers? Not here for them, just redone"

People want "bad romance" but they already HAVE Bad Romance. Artists grow, they evolve, they want to do new things, let the woman breathe.

That's the reason i hate so much BAD ROMANCE, overrated ass song

That's a very high compliment. I hope it comes to fruition.

You know, it really varies from artist to artist.

I'm thinking more especially of painters who cultivate a craft and become increasingly more refined with their artistry, technique and mastery as they age. I have been close friends with many artists, photographers, painters, musicians, vocalists, etc... and what I often see is that artists who truly devote themselves to the craft of their artwork - they become increasingly masterful artists with age.

Obviously it's not true across the board. For example - I feel that Bjork's best work was definitely in the 90s and early 2000s, and her albums since 2005 have been declining. But that's a personal taste. Not all artists are going to continue on an upward spiral, especially with musicians. But some artists - like U2 or Sting for example - are able to continue for decades, and are able to put out extremely fabulous albums well into a decade or two into their career.

Personally, I hope that this is true. I would LOVE to see Gaga evolve as an artist / songwriter / performer and go to the next way next level and produce work that is as fresh, deeply soulful and expressive as Bjork. But yes, most importantly it is extremely good that Gaga is taking time with creating her album, because I believe it will really be her work and not mass produced pop shlock, like you said.

Did anyone else think of Age of Ultron when Captain America says "I'm only going to say this once" and Ironman goes "How about nonce*" when they read the title of this thread?

Gaga is maturing and exploring new things.  She is very creative and has the capacity for many talents, some of which she may not have discovered yet.  So she might as well try everything while she's only 30.  We may see rock, broadway, starring roles in movies, and who knows what else ... anything.  She tells her fans they are superstars, they will "sing and dance", they have greatress within them.  She inspires others to find their talents.  It's time for her fans to encourage her to try everything and wish her all the best.  Time to unchain her from demands that limit her.

I live outside the space time continuum.
