The album hasn't changed conceptually since she officially started working on it. From day one it was about doing something more organic, and she knew this all the way back in 2013, for those concerned with her not knowing what she wants to do. The last 18 months or so were a lot about taking time and figuring out how to approach that vision and finding people to go on a journey with her.

Fans have to realize that she's in completely new territory here. She spent years recording while on tour and running all over the place, to the point of mental and physical exhaustion, only to be pushed out again and made to work when she wasn't ready. Now she's on her own schedule and in one place with a team that cares about her. She's also learning new things to become a better musician so she can create the best possible record she can make. These things take time and patience on both sides.

Personally, I don't think RedOne is even part of what Gaga sees this project being. His involvement was suggested by Interscope very early on as a way to get her started. She may use bits of their sessions together, but I would not be surprised if it turns out to be another "Gypsy" situation. His answers about their work together read like someone who has been left out of the loop, because everyone currently involved with the album knows their place in it.

thanks you for this

Okay, I find this slightly worrying. Not just because it means the album is probably not going to be out this year, but also also because it shows she's lacking certainty and confidence in the future of her music. She had such a distinctive voice and sound with her other albums and now she's "still trying to figure out" her next sound, even though the album is tipped for release this year? Is this why she has been so quiet about it - because she doesn't know or care enough about the album's theme and message?

I don't know. I'm just getting tired of all these things the producers are saying after Gaga seemed so sure she would release the album in 2016. I can't help but feel let down by her. I hope she proves me wrong.

After working on the album for over a year, and they still can't figure out a sound :air:

at this rate the album isn't coming out until her kids graduate from high school :toofunny:

Maybe his work has been binned for the work she done with Mark. Would explain why he is out of the loop.

Bye Red1 you can stay in 2009 :green:

Okay, on second thought, what he's saying is contradicting the facts. She is currently mixing songs, which means she's at the post-production stage. How could she be "figuring out" her next album when she's got 8 RedOne songs finished and at least one Ronson song under the belt? It doesn't make any sense what the producers have been saying.

I'm praying that they are bluffing to make it sound like Gaga is way further behind than she actually is, so that they can spring a surprise release on us (similar to what Beyonce did with self-titled). I really hope that's what it is.

Y'all... this is truly JumpingToConclusionsDaily. :saladga:

"Her next thing" could easily mean which lead single she wants to choose, which songs she wants on the final album, it could easily mean her next shtick, her next controversy-inducing stunt. It doesn't necessarily mean she has no concept at all the for the album.

How do you all not have, how do I say this nicely, the ability to critically think? It's pretty obvious all these vague answers are deliberate. You should know by now, after almost every a year, that Gaga and her team are purposefully keeping the lid shut on LG5. She's giving you all exactly what you wanted, no true hype. She's doing the antithesis by playing the "oh I don't know. It's coming sometime this year" game and you're all falling right into her trap. She's infinitely more intelligent than us when it comes to this business and she knows exactly what she's doing. It's been obvious for months this is her strategy for the album, how are y'all so weak minded that you can't pick that up?

Mixing is a drawn out process that happens throughout recording. Producers can be mixing anything from one song to a full album's worth (and even then it's usually just several versions of the same song). I believe they were doing some mixing back in February as well, according to Gaga's Snapchat at the time. An artist usually has to go through and approve these mixes and sequence the album before they can be mastered, and that's when things are close to done.

It's been different stuff coming from Gaga, RedOne and Mark.

Honestly they are gonna give nothing away about the album. Gaga said this year but didn't say when. It's gonna be a total surprise when she drops it.
