Trump, who has already recruited a variety of far-right activists and conspiracy theorists to his campaign, is set to take part in a convening organized by Ben Carson, a former rival turned campaign surrogate, aimed at bringing reluctant Religious Right leaders to his side.

According to a copy of the invitation to the event obtained by the National Review, Trump will be joined by Religious Right activists including Tony Perkins, James Dobson, Penny Nance, Jim Garlow, Rick Scarborough, Phil Burress, Ken Cuccinelli, Lila Rose, E.W Jackson, Harry Jackson, Tim Wildmon, Ralph Reed, Pat Robertson and Cindy Jacobs.

The meeting will be cohosted by the Family Research Council, Vision America and AFA Action, the political arm of the American Family Association, three of the most vicious anti-LGBT hate groups in the country.

Do you think that's the extent of it?

Did you even research these groups before you made that comment?

Tbh. Big difference indeed

People can have whatever opinion they want. Wencant force anyone to agree with homosexuality. If we do, are we not being equaly as intolerant mot accepting their views?

My only issue is with people that become disrespectful or try to force their views on others. Thats the problem!

hey do not conduct religious matters for them to qualify as a religious group to begin with, so don't try to pain them as such. These are people who have fought every LGBT and are behind many anti-LGBT legislations.

There is no excuse.

The guy in the picture once lamented that gays cannot be stoned to death anymore, for example.

"But Trump is Pro- LGBT!!1! ;( "

Reminder that Trump considers this man for a possible Supreme Court pick:

(William J Pryor):

In a 2003 legal brief arguing to uphold a Texas law criminalizing consensual LGBT sex, Pryor compared it to “polygamy, incest, pedophilia, prostitution, and adultery” and argued that states should be free to prosecute gay people as criminals. He said the rights of LGBT people as a group are not protected by the Constitution.

“This Court [the Supreme Court] has never recognized a fundamental right to engage in sexual activity outside of monogamous heterosexual marriage, let alone to engage in homosexual sodomy,” Pryor wrote. “Such a right would be antithetical to the ‘traditional relation of the family’ that is ‘as old and as fundamental as our entire civilization.”

He also said homosexuality was harmful and that Texans needed protection from it.

Lambda Legal also notes that Pryor cast a deciding vote that blocked Florida LGBT couples from adopting children in need of homes.

“Several judges on the appeals court wanted to hear the case and said the law raised ‘serious and substantial questions,’ but William Pryor kept that from happening,” executive director Kevin Cathcart wrote. “As a result, lesbians and gay men in Florida cannot adopt children who need permanent, loving homes.”
