There's no need to be sassy. 

And I'm talking about the theatrics of the entire tour. She was even accused of copying Gaga's paint vomit performance in an interlude video.

Anyway, I don't deny she's had impact in these later years. But so have other pop artists in their own way. And I feel like it's not a cool trend here for people to act like Gaga's the only one who's caused a wave in the scene, a wave that supposedly kept on crashing in contrast to her competition. That's just not true.

Well I never claimed she was the only one to have an impact on today's music. But I will argue that she still has impact on it, though not as much as before.

Katy copying Gaga's tour theatrics... Welp.... Forgot that Gaga invented touring and puting art into pop and colours. Madonna must've saw the future back in 89/90 and copied Gaga when she actually release a record that "gets as close to pop in art" and starting theatrics with her iconic tour, Blonde Abmition.

This is always the thing that irks me though. If Gaga does it, she's copying Madonna. But other popgirls not only use this to escape the argument they weren't influenced by Gaga, it also shields them from exact same criticism people throw at Gaga with respect to Madonna. What kind of double standards?

Did I drag Gaga? Did I attack her? Am I being bias towards one of my fave and try to bring down the other. No. I love Gaga. She was never the first artist to use theatrics in concerts. Iirc, Prince also did during the 80s, correct me if I'm wrong. But Madonna was the first woman to actually do it and it inspires later acts to do it. She's literally the blue print.

Not necessarily you. Notice I never directly stated it was you.

But it is a common complaint against Gaga. And yes, Madonna started it all. Let's be real though. Who actually brought it back to the mainstream enough for it to be a cultural phenomenon? That was about some 2 decades of generally toned down fashion save for a few breaks here and there. Bjork did it frequently but she wasn't as mainstream as Gaga.

Again, I'm not claiming Gaga invented these things. She doesnt deserve that credit. But that doesnt mean she doesnt deserve credit for putting performance art (fashion+videos) in the limelight again.
