FBI Investigating Terry McAuliffe Over Alleged Foreign Campaign Donations

The FBI is investigating Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe for allegedly taking illegal campaign donations from a foreign donor. McAuliffe's time as a board member for the Clinton Global Initiative is also under scrutiny. CNN has the story: 

"As part of the probe, the officials said, investigators have scrutinized McAuliffe's time as a board member of the Clinton Global Initiative, a vehicle of the charitable foundation set up by former President Bill Clinton.

Among the McAuliffe donations that drew the interest of the investigators was $120,000 from a Chinese businessman, Wang Wenliang, through his U.S. businesses. Wang was previously delegate to China's National People's Congress, the country's ceremonial legislature."

McAuliffe is under FBI investigation. Hillary Clinton is under FBI investigation for public corruption through the Clinton Foundation and for sharing top secret, classified information on an unsecure, private email server. Like McAuliffe, New York City Mayor Bill De Blasio is under FBI investigation for alleged corruption surrounding his campaign fundraising. Clinton, McAuliffe and DeBlasio are friends and political allies.

In fact, McAuliffe held a fundraiser for Clinton...yesterday.

I don't think it will work. All Democrats are pals. Except for the fake one of course.

I remember the Clinton's going out to campaign hard for him. They are very close.

Unfortunate. Associating with anyone who has money carries an inherent risk in also being associated with their practices, even more so if they work with you.

It's still a reach to say that Clinton enabled or supported him if these allegations are true. This article is clearly a hit piece.

 This is really frustrating.

I live in this state. Our last governor before McAuliffe was also indicted on corruption charges for taking money illegally! It's actually shocking how much money from questionable parties and special interests DOES make its way into American politics.

I agree that trying to tie Mayor De Blasio to Hillary is a reach, but I don't think connecting her to Governor McAuliffe is.....they have both campaigned for each other many times and are both involved in the Clinton Foundation. Not to mention the shady donations both Bill and Hillary have received from countries who treat women like second class citizens and murder gay people.

It's not like this connection is out of the realm of possibility.

It's not like this connection is out of the realm of possibility. 

He's a Board member to the Foundation though. He's not actively routing money into the Foundation itself in the name of the Foundation for it to raise concerns. He has donated to the Foundation that's true though, but organizations don't question where the money is coming from. He conducts his own business and he just happens to be involved with Clinton. She pats his back when he pats hers.

Still it's not like it's impossible that she's involved. One can also use this to try to attack Hillary's connections and who she associates with, but she's so interwoven with the Democratic party that it can be done with any Democrat who messes up really  

Trump's probably going to run an ad against Clinton whenever one does
