JevyDuty 2,961
And he better not!! Nothing to apologize for. You hit me, I hit you back. My hit was obviously harder and you got hurt. Sorry. Not sorry! Edit: I mean he could pay his respect for the dead and he could lament that the world went through those world wars but not apologize for what had to be done. But yeah no reason to apologize when both parts Japan and US are quite equal to blame for violence.
Poot 719
I agree people shouldn't apologize for others actions in the past, but since Obama did apologize many times for things leaders did in the past, this seems hypocritical

The Japanese targeted civilians all over asia, hence why they are not very much liked. The end of a war that cost the world anywhere from 50 to 80 MILLION lives was a good thing. It was a shortcut that also saved lives in the long run. The world was in chaos and it was the shock that stopped the mayhem. We did the right thing. No regrets here. AJH219 4,448
Time to get our heads out of the past. No need to apologize for what happened, stupid to even think one is needed. Learn from it and just acknowledge we won't resort to such disgusting tactics again. FATCAT 60,886
It saved many more lives than it took. Its terrible that we had to use it in the first place, but it's use was needed. This kitten over here (meow)

teo 609
It's pointless to apologize cause it won't bring back the victims and Japan and the US have really good relations(right?) so it's unnecessary from a diplomatic point of view too. I don't justify it thought it was an disgusting act and if it was done by the opposite side I'm sure today we would have be comparing it to the Holocaust. These were two bombs that were dropped for probably a few minutes and killed a quarter million people. But history is written by the victors so... In all fairness I don't think the Americans and the British really knew the impact these bombing would have.
