Australia for example used to be more liberal with guns and then placed gun control laws. Their population freaked out the same way Americans do now. But it did not result in increased robberies or murders as they feared

 

In most cases robbers will rob when they know no one is home. And in rare instances they break in when someone is home, more often than not they run away when they realize u are home cuz they fear u will call the cops...

 

But if you have a gun you are a bigger immediate threat to them which might explain why in the US criminals resort to using their guns more often

That's just because they don't bother to get the license. Second, the stricter laws don't have much effect. We always had less violence than the US, even back when anyone could purchase Kalashnikovs and similar things, and the violent crime rate has been going down. Also, all high-profile mass shootings here have involved registered guns, and were usually committed by the licensed owners too.

Trump and Bernie are talking about two different things. Bernie never said that Hillary was "trying to end guns". He was saying that allowing for lawsuits against gun manufacturers would shut down the manufacturers in this country, due to the cost of defending against lawsuits. (Which is highly improbable)

Okay but if someone was trying to make the case that Hillary was trying to end guns, wouldn't it make sense to mention her support of legislation that some have said would end up shutting down gun manufacturing in America?

Why are you anti-gun control?

Any legislation even being hinted at is purely to make sure guns don't legally fall into the hands of people who shouldn't have them. Closing loopholes, security issues, and improving background checks while broadening the spectrum of people that shouldn't be allowed to own a gun (someone on the no fly list, for example). It has nothing to do with confiscating guns or taking away Americans' right to legally, and responsibly, own a firearm

Common sense laws regarding guns should be the goal. All out bans and all out free-carry are not the solution.
