MannyMonster98 31
Hey yall:) So let's just be real. I think that it is fairly clear that LG5 will not necessarily be a typical "pop" Gaga album. Yes, I am sure that it will have "bops" and tracks that you can dance to and a super fun vibe to it, but I do not see it sounding anything like the Lady Gaga that we have heard before. I remember first thinking that LG5 would be Gaga returning to her "The Fame/TFM roots" after hearing that she was working with RedOne amd everything last year, but i don't know now...After producer Mark Ronson (known for not-so-dance pop records) CONFIRMED that he has been a major part of the album and FUNK producer Nike Rodgers just today hinted that Gaga's new material is "funky", I think that her next album direction is fairly obvious in terms of sound. Also, Gaga has learned guitar for this new record (guitar is a major aspect of funk music) and let's not forget the "I Want Your Love" collab (which I realize was not for Gaga in specific but still). Idk I just see her totally taking this album to a different genre/side of herself entirely and I am scared tbh yet so ready I DONT KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT. I just think that the world knows her for her fun dance pop music so it'll be interesting to see how they react if she does go for a funk sound. But what about you? Are you in for a Funky Gaga? Do you want Gaga to stick to her dance pop sound? Why or why not? Leave a comment below and don't be shy
Nono 3,576
I'm in for a Funky Gaga if she delivers it in a modern and revolutionary way with the killer music video. I dont want/like traditional old classic funk.
Dangerous Man 9,245
Well, her main producers already gave us ideas what will the album be like and that it will be different from her past albums. The album sound is kinda obvious now what will it be like. "A little less conversation and a little more touch my body."

Manul 7,377
I wonder if Filthy Pop can be considered funk. It gives me life. it wasn't laaaahv
Edonis 28,950
I'm pretty sure everyone has been expecting some sort of funk music from Gaga on LG5.
artRaver 3,188
Everyone here at some point has been expecting some type of disco / funk / rock hybrid. I don't know how many people want that though but I sure in the hell do. ✿ cherry blossom girl ✿

Fancy Pants is where that funk sound has been done by her- sure it was using a bowie instrumental, however it has funk /glam pop elements. Chromatislaps 34,851
I think the Chic cover last year was just a taste of LG5, just like Stache was a taste of ARTPOP. I won't worry about LG5 at all if the sound is as crisp and well produced as that
seashellartfunk 292
It was the early 2k15 when I realized she was taking different direction and I knew it would be funk/rock. Why? Covering Stevie Wonder, 4 Non Blondes, etc... dressing like she came straight from the 80s and so on. All those signs were pretty much hinting at what her new style would be. Few months later, IWYL just cofirmed my theory. And now, it's quite obvious and the mistery is almost resolved. The only question is, what will it sound like? I'd personally want her to make an innovative funk sound mixing it with elements from rock and electronic music. Some kind of a modern futuristic funk hybrid. kabirartfling 9,063
As much as i want 'the pop' gaga...i'd rather prefer her taking the risk and release something different..i mean do you guys remember the reaction when born this way came out? EVERYONE was like where are the pop songs gags? But that album is now considered her most diverse & best album. So yeah the risk will pay off. Give your love to me
Hexxx 2,244
I'd rather have disco then funk. I need another Rockshow or something dance oriented Lady Gaga/ Madonna/Lana /Azealia Banks/ Jazmine Sullivan/ DEEE-LITE/ Moko

Leave a comment below and don't be shy Mark is not mainly funk, sure his recent and only hit was called Uptown Funk but for years he worked in hiphop and has provided guitar for various tracks. And Nile Rodgers is more disco funk but again provides guitar on various tracks. A producers future work can't be foreseen by their past work, everyone goes in new directions all the time. And I doubt Gaga will go full on funk with the album, it's been predominant for past few years, it's unlikely Gaga will follow a trend again. And guitars are big in many styles of music from country to punk to rock to bluegrass even pop. but in pop so much instrument use has been replaced by synthesizers and computer generated basslines where guitars used to be used to develop the bassline or back beat of a song.
