There's some brilliant elements there, but somehow his production always ends up sounding a bit "flat" (like in an audible sense) to me. It's not a full sound taking over the room. I prefer that for Gaga, simply because of her vocal power.

But I'd sure love the attention to detail and the amount of interesting layers of it. PrimeTime is just glorious that way. That mix particularly is simply astounding. What I also love about these tracks is the time they get to breathe. That guitar solo in PT for instance. Doesn't feel rushed, doesn't feel obligatory (like Ariana's DW for instance), it feels like part of the song. No pop structure inhibiting the soul of the thing. It's time for Gaga to start investing in that kind of music if she's serious about bringing new sounds in. No ARTPOP 2.0 pls.
