Belivet 287 Posted May 18, 2016 Share Posted May 18, 2016 I think most people are confused with the traits of the houses. Gryffindor's traits are courage, determination and chivalry. This does not mean the Gryffindors are good or show courage in everything they do. Peter Pettigrew was a Gryffindor, he joined the Death Eaters and wasn't considered to be brave, but he was brave when he chose not to kill Harry. James Potter, who was a Gryffindor, bullied Snape. Gryffindor does not equal loyalty. Slytherin's traits are resourcefulness, cunning and ambition. This does not mean that Slytherins are evil and Slytherins just tend to seek ways to benefit themselves or their family. Andromeda Tonks and Snape were Slytherins, and Tonks helped the Order of the Phoenix during the war. Snape may have been unfair to Harry, but he was looking out for him ultimately; he did bad things, but he did it for a good reason. Professor Slughorn was a Slytherin and he wasn't bad. Hufflepuff's traits are hardwork, patience, loyalty and fair play. This does not mean that a Hufflepuff cannot be brave or ambitious. Cedric Diggory was a Hufflepuff and he was brave, but he valued loyalty. Hufflepuffs are be brave, cunning and smart, but they usually don't seek attention for it. Ravenclaw's traits are wit, learning and wisdom. Ravenclaws enjoy learning and thinking. Luna Lovegood, a Ravenclaw, believed in many nonsensical things, but she was a Ravenclaw because she was somebody who thinked and value learning. Hermione, a Gryffindor, seems much smarter than Luna, but she was courageous and determined. At the end of the day, none of the traits are exclusive to one house. I would think that Gaga could fit into Hufflepuff, because that's the most fluid out of all the houses.
