I always support multiple artists coming together for a tribute to show the versatility of the artist and the way their music had influenced them and brings them together.

I'd love to see Alicia Keys join Madonna for example. But go Madonna, hope she does well. Her and Prince had a great connection. This petition is rude af.

Sure, but shes a nobody compared to M. And again since M and Prince were close too, what's The problem. I would think Janelle would suit more for memorial or who's to say this is The only tribute, there sure can be others too. But its a much higher honer to have some one like Madonna to do The tribute because of her status (and ofcourse by their connection). Im not saying Janelle isn't a marvelous artist, she is, but not quite on high enough lvl for "premier" tribute.

If a tribute is based upon the popularity of the guest performer, then it's not a tribute. It's somber publicity.

No I didnt say its about popularity necessarily, but of status. BB wants to convey a high status respect publicly to Prince's memory so they want The biggest "authority" left in Entertainment world (who's also a friend, two birds with one Stone).  I don't know why you don't understand it? Its not Prince's memorial or anything like that but a public tribute. And you must also Take in to account that BB wants ratings on top of ALL. Hence Madonna is much more suited for this particular tribute.

But like I said, there will most likely be others too.

Thats ALL you got ftom my posts? I don't really understand why you object so adamantly against Madonna doing it. She's The biggest legend around and close friend with mutual admiration etc. I think its a great way to honour Prince. Sure there are others too and will probably tribute him too but yeah, M is perfect to do it now.
