Gaga embarrassed by her past actions?

I re-read her Instagram post from a few days ago today, and the parts I've bolded made me think:

(keep in mind this is in response to someone calling her a religious hypocrite)

Dear Becky Roach, Mary Magdalene washed the feet of Christ and was protected and loved by him. A prostitute. Someone society shames as if she and her body are a man’s trash can. He loved her and did not judge. He let her cry over him and dry his feet with the hair of a harlot. We are not just “celebrities” we are humans and sinners, children, and our lives are not void of values because we struggle. We are as equally forgiven as our neighbor. God is never a trend no matter who the believer."

 

And to me that sounds like she is saying that she feels that the way she was during her old eras was 'sinful', and that she's since asked for forgiveness.

Is this why she's been dressing and acting so much more conservatively recently? Has she had a look back at her career and regrets the way she acted? Is she now a changed woman? Are we never gonna see our party girl, hooker on a street corner, sexually liberated, and totally free Gaga again? Or do you think I'm interpreting this wrongly?

Because I loved her for all how free and wild she was and it just makes me a lil sad okay, please don't judge me too harshly   if she goes really conservative I'll kinda feel like I've lost the friend who taught me how to be myself.

I don't think she was referring to her actions as Lady Gaga. I think she was referring to personal stuff.

I can't find it, but I'm thinking of some time when she reposted fan art while promoting Cheek to Cheek. A fan had drawn a Gaga representing each album cycle, and she liked it, saying she can look back to each moment and not have regrets or something like that.

Maybe? Who knows. Maybe she'll open up about it (if this is indeed the case) some day? I doubt it tho, seeing as how she dressed the MET lol but like I said, who know? 

But like, even I get embarrassed over some of the **** I've done in the past. Like, even stuff as recent as last year, I'll look back on **** and cringe at myself

Well, she said and did many cringe-worthy things during ARTPOP era, like her tweet about shading Katy's tour, her attempt to get controversial using DWUW video, etc. Pretty sure she wants to forget everything about that era.

I don't think she is distancing herself. She is just not selling anything at the moment so she has no reason to talk to us.
