in this case, it means real instruments, rather than samples and synths.

Totally here for it, I like dance-pop, I've heard too much of digital sounds.

this fanbase can finally get rid of these whiny gay bottoms and move on to a more mature demographic

There's nothing immature about whiny gay bottoms.  And I don't think honest, authentic analogue music will scare us away.

I'm glad he's saying this. But I also feel like everybody she has worked with has said this on numerous occasions.

No flack on Mark, more like when will the world understand fully that she's very much creatively in control.

I hate when people refer to "bottoms" as something negative tbh :awkney:

Lowkey misogynistic, tbh. Equating the brash perception of bottoms with the fear of femininity, like...

No synthesizers. Not out of any of the Mark Ronson produced songs. All actual physical instruments like piano, guitar, drums, etc.

Mark Ronson has said he wanted to record his next project on analog (like the Foo Fighters did for their 2011 album) so I think LG5 is his "next project" for this. It aligns with the comments he made earlier. This means it won't be recorded on traditional studio equipment, and as seen with Foo Fighters, you don't get to record on more than one or two takes, and additionally, the songs have a retro/older feel. It's really challenging this way, especially as a pop artist, but the interesting thing is knowing she's recording on analog I don't believe it'll be EDM. Not even close. I don't know whether or not she's making an album of ballads but live instruments will replace synths and what have you. She is not learning guitar for the hell of it. He also made note of this record not being made to accompany a set of dance moves so I think we can finally deduce that 1) RedOne isn't the exec-producer anymore & 2) her next live show will be unlike anything we've seen. In all honesty, it makes sense that Elton John compared LG5 to 'Tapestry' by Carole King because Gaga loves her & Ronson has said 'Tapestry' is one of his favorite records ever. To get a good idea of what LG5 will sound like I'd highly recommend giving it a listen. She'll modernize the crap out of it, but, yes, ultimately, I'd be surprised if we're even getting funk/disco bops at this point. Just because that's what Ronson did recently does not mean it is what he wants to continue to do (his interest in recording on analog confirms this). I'm nervous but excited. Gaga is doing something she has NEVER done before. I can't imagine her without the production and vocals she has been known for this whole time. It is truly a new era. This is what she meant when she said she was finally in control, I think! Gaga will NEVER leave pop music but that does not mean she'll record standard pop tracks. Carole King and Bowie were also considered pop because they redefined what that meant; I believe Gaga is about to do that again for herself too.
