It's one thing for a comic to do it, it's another thing entirely for someone who is interested in serious political conversations to use nicknames and language that calls for immediate dismissal of the other person's beliefs. It shuts down conversations and dehumanizes the person whom you are disagreeing with, and really it proves you have more in common with Trump then you may think, just ask Lyin' Ted. Can Bernie still win? Probably not. Good things rarely happen. The thing is I'm not interested in having conversations about Trump. He doesn't deserve an iota of respect from me considering his stances range from the misogynistic to the xenophobic. Not to mention that he employs a character that is vaguely representative of Hitler's Nazi Germany from his speeches to his employment of little kids chanting and dancing about the greatness of America like Hitler youth. This is the one case where I find Godwin's Law to be appropriate. In any case if you support him then you should not be concerned about the nickname Drumpf. It's a badge of honor. We've got to move forward and make sure that Democrats maintain control of the executive branch. We have to realize that so much of the progress being made in our country is coming from the Supreme Court and the next POTUS is likely going to appoint 3, maybe 4, new judges that will absolutely shape the future of our country. If those judges are conservative, we're in for a world of hurt when it comes to gay rights, trans rights, womens right, voting rights, rights of people of color, and many others. We can't afford a Republican in the White House. Eh many Bernie supporters understand this. What you're saying needs to be addressed to the Bernie or Bust movement though. The thing is, if you aren't interested in having conversations about the person whom you believe to be directly comparable to Adolf Hitler, then you aren't nearly as politically conscious as you like to think you are, and you will be to blame when he is elected President of the United States. It is exactly that disinterest and dismissal of him that has put him in the position of power he currently holds. As Obama bemoaned last night at the Correspondence dinner, it is because of people like you, the press, and Trump's Primary running mates that Trump is now the inevitable Republican nominee. It is at your own risk that you do not take him seriously.

I simply don't want to discuss Trump at present and if I use a nickname for him then it's my prerogative. If you really want me to explain the reasoning then perhaps you can make a thread about it and we'll discuss it there. Edited just now by LebaneseDude. Had I been interested in having a conversation with you in this thread or in another thread about Trump I would have quoted you in my original post. You are the one who chose to engage me in conversation, in spite of your supposed disinterest. I'm sure you are a lovely person in real life, but judging by your history of overbearing posts on this forum, there isn't much to be gained by having a discussion with you. I hope this will be the last of our interactions.

Whispering 18,865
No, you can't Bernie, but you've got a couple of more months to ride the wave.
Azor Ahai 18,861
At this point its completely delusional to believe he can win it. It was a long shot before, but after loaing so many states he will have to win likes the delegates left to get it, which is impossible obviously. UmbriaWitch 325
Personally I hope the bern victims keep believing Sanders has a chance. One of the most pleasing things in this election cycle has been watching the reactions post primary night after Hilary has won. The different stages from grief from anger to denial and everything else. So, yes keep believing Bern victims, your meltdowns are delicious.

Your guys' way of living is affecting the world (e.g. marriage equality sparked discussion all around the globe). Hate Hillary all you want, but she's way better than any Republican.
