Bernie Sanders admitted Sunday that his path to the Democratic nomination is an “uphill fight,” but vowed that he is still actively trying to win the race over former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. “It’s an uphill fight, I admit it,” he said on CBS’ “Face the Nation.” “We need to win 65 percent of those votes, but the states coming up are favorable to us.” Still, asked by moderator John Dickerson what the current goal of his campaign is, Sanders replied: “To win the Democratic nomination and then to win the general election.” The senator added that of the 10 remaining states to vote, several are favorable territory for him–especially California, which he said “happens to be the most progressive state in this country.” “It is difficult,” Sanders said of his chances at the nomination. “It is not impossible.” Sunday is the one-year anniversary of Sanders’ entrance into the Democratic race. Asked what that means to him, Sanders said it’s a reminder of how far his campaign has come. “It means we have come an extraordinary distance in one year,” he said. “You know, when we started, we were considered to be a fringe candidate. We have now won over nine million votes. We have won 16 states.” ----- Sure why not, although Clinton has a significant lead in the polls in all the states. At least he's not expressing any delusions on the superdelegates. I hope the internecine warfare stops though and let the remainder of the campaigns of either democratic nominee be spent on targeting Drumpf. We've got to move forward and make sure that Democrats maintain control of the executive branch. We have to realize that so much of the progress being made in our country is coming from the Supreme Court and the next POTUS is likely going to appoint 3, maybe 4, new judges that will absolutely shape the future of our country. If those judges are conservative, we're in for a world of hurt when it comes to gay rights, trans rights, womens right, voting rights, rights of people of color, and many others. It's one thing for a comic to do it, it's another thing entirely for someone who is interested in serious political conversations to use nicknames and language that calls for immediate dismissal of the other person's beliefs. It shuts down conversations and dehumanizes the person whom you are disagreeing with, and really it proves you have more in common with Trump then you may think, just ask Lyin' Ted.
