What's your favorite decade in music?

I'm a total 80s guy. I feel like the music had a totally different quality that todays music doesn't reach up to.

Also vinyls >>> Spotify.

I think the 70's.

It's the decade in which the "singer-songwriter" became a thing and, maybe bc they knew ppl would be so aware of who they were and that they had come up with those songs and lyrics, there was a real intent to create good, meaningful, lasting music...and there was also a will to innovate as an effect of the 60's counter culture...songs also became at once more personal, "confessional" and relatable (Joni's Blue, for example) AND theatrical, universal and political (Bowie's Diamond Dogs, e.g.), not everyone was singing about partying/love/money, and if they were there was usually a smart, authentic twist to it (I mean, I love Adele, but the way she's speaks about love is the same way I went about it when I was 12)...

The best Bowie, Pink Floyd, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Led Zeppelin albums were released in the 70's...even the Beatles released Abbey Road and Let it Be, two albums in which they matured exponentially, in 69/70, which is already 70's culture realm.

It's the kind of music that's dense and might be difficult at first, because it's so rich, but that in the long run are far more rewarding...I keep coming back to certain albums and finding new layers of meanings and aesthetics and I end up perceiving them in a different light...which is something I frankly don't get from many other songs I also love and enjoy from the 80's, 90's, 2000's...

But every decade has their highs and lows...it's all about finding them.

ATTENTION: (bad) jokes and sarcasm are still a thing, so don't take everything I say literally. Thank you.

The 2000's (I want to also include 1998-1999) this decade was amazing :flutter:

This mutual gaze was a “longing to touch” or a "pre-coitus" stare.

Those are two years not a decade haha

I know, but music from 1998-2009 was really good, so I had to include those two years with the 2000's:giveup:
