What is the point of having a main thread with constant updates within that thread but with no one to see them? Do I have to set a reminder to remind me as in 'Okay, let me check this thread to see if there's any update today.'

No that's not how it works. I want to receive notifications when there's something new being posted, I can't remember every 'main thread' that exists on this site, nor do I have the time to check all of them daily.
