Noah 26,972
You should check out the music from Namika or Helene Fischer, they have easy lyrics with a good meaning. Movies, I'd say movies by Til Schweiger. His movies are easy to understand and don't feature complicated words. ⟡ ⋆ ˚。⋆🦢⋆ ˚。⋆⟡
The Surrealist 27,470
Music: Namika, Lena, Tic Tac Toe, Monrose. Series: none. There are no quality series in Germany, that's why we have dubbed american shows. Films: Das Leben der Anderen, Gegen die Wand, Die Fremde, Die Welle, Das Boot, Am Himmel Der Tag Books: Everything by Rainer Maria-Rilke
kvnrp 48,353
Songs: Anything from Namika, Mark Forster, German music has gotten pretty good over the last two years with a lot of new artists. Films: Almanya - Willkommen in Deutschland, Homevideo, some of the older stuff my Michael "Bully" Herbig Series/TV Shows: Obviously the ARD Tatort (Crime), Ladykracher (Comedy), Neo Magazin Royale (Satire), Stromberg (German The Office). Series are in a odd place here, we sure fund and produce a lot of shows and films, but nothing really sticks out from the rest . One broadcaster (RTL, the absolute worst of all) produced a mini-series, Deutschland 86, and it even won some prizes in the US but it flopped hard here. Our public broadcasters, ARD and ZDF, produce a lot of stuff but mostly targeted towards a older audience, but sometimes they come up with something really great for all. Their "young" channels EinsPlus and zdf_neo are pretty good tho. I haven't seen that many German films and tv shows even tho I'm German Spoiler I sure did see them at some point, but I just don't remember any

Regiment 901
You should watch most of Rainer Werner Fassbinder's films. He's one of the legendary gay directors and The Bitter Tears of Petra von Kant, Querelle and The Marriage of Maria Braun are masterpieces. Another amazing director is Werner Herzog. His movie Nosferatu the Vampyre is astounding ( but try and find the german version not the dubbed one). Iconic cinematography that relied on mood rather than horror and it managed to be very touching at the same time.
