Morphine Prince 105,673
Do you think Beyonce's cultural impact is unmatched among the current generation of popular artists? It's crazy how when she drops an album it's an EVENT. I just saw CNN dedicate 15-20 minutes to people talking about this album and how political and culturally impacting it is. I feel like no other modern artist gets the amount of praise and attention she does. Many say she's overrated because of this but if you look at the big picture Beyonce stands out among the rest. What's your take on this?
Morphine Prince 105,673
Off topic but in the time span from when ARTPOP was released until now, Beyonce has released two albums. Let that sink in.
PartySick 159,827
I'd definitely put her up there with the likes of Michael, Whitney, Madonna, etc. These days, she's the living incarnation of the word "hype" And I don't even like her music Spoiler Because I know Gaga will be brought up in this thread, I want to say that I don't think her impact has been realized yet. That is, I don't think she's had her career defining moment. We all know she's iconic and is a pop culture staple, just like Beyonce, but she hasn't had her true peak yet imo. 🌸Flourishing and vibrant🌼
PdogtheDaibutsu 717
Well she likes to make music with a lot of social and racial stances, plus she likes to throw her relationship affairs into the limelight so of course people will always talk about those things. Titzlol 607
Beyonce could fart into a trumpet and twitter would go nuts. Love ha but I think shes becoming ovrrated and I roll my eyes now at her releases, haven't even heard lemonade lol. Her death will be milked for 400 years and single ladies will be our national anthem for years to come after. bookmark me
Dangerous Man 9,245
I don't think so. "A little less conversation and a little more touch my body."
2020Covid19IsOurs 6,901
I'm really shocked the amount of coverage she's getting. It's even bigger than Adele's 25 just in terms of being reported extensively by reputed media companies. I hope it sells well, the hype is unreal. Gaga x JeffHardy x BillMaher
brendablethyn 536
I haven't seen any cross over into the general public. I mean when you visit gossip sites etc it's mentioning it but outside of the celebrity circle I haven't heard any of my friends or family even mention it. When 25 came out everyone was like "Adele is back". Also her music is quite inaccessible now. It's political and the imagery is graphic and I feel like she's lost a lot of casual music followers. LePetitGAGABLover 21,234
I really hate to say this lol but she deserves it. Shes not only incredibly talented but also a samrt buisness woman. However, i do feel like shes at the brink of having her ARTPOP era soon. No one can keep that amount of sucess for so many years in this day in age

You wished for ARTPOP to flop didn't you? Would you want LG5 to underperform as well so no one can say Gaga is overrated? I don't agree with you. I hope Gaga gets praised to the heavens. I wish the same for all Artists. I'll lift you 3 inches off the ground and drag you to a meter and a half
Bear 7,515
Yes, it doesn't matter if you think it's deserved or not, but there is no denying the amount of attention and buzz she creates when she releases. I don't even think Adele matched it when she released.
Regiment 901
Yep and she deserves all of it.

Lord Temptation 11,209
Journalism is dead. People only read the comments. And darling, they aren't good. From respected UK publication The Guardian, we get a glowing review for Lemonade: http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2016/apr/25/beyonce-lemonade-jay-z-infidelity-emotional-project-depths Yet scroll a little to the bottom of the page, and judging by the most recommended comments we get a starkly different analysis: w roberts says: Reading this you'd think Beyoncé was suffering for her people like Mandela. She's not breaking rocks, you know. She lives like Cleopatra. (110 likes) mismeasure says: The culture industry thrives by encouraging those it dominates to identify with its products. (105 likes) ID6694878 says: "Lemonade is about the love that black women have" What nonsense. If she had any respect she would have dumped her loathsome misogynist husband. (67 likes) Ricko Smith says: Get a grip, honey. (57 likes) Isaachunt60 says Nope. It is just cleverly marketed ,horribly over-produced pop music. A packet of Pringles has more substance. (40 likes) youngteacher says: Wow this article is ridiculous, over the top and makes massive generalisations! We are the woman that bla bla.. As a black woman I do not work two jobs and clean my men's blood off the streets...thank you for ANOTHER stereotypical article about black woman that again implies that apparently we are a homogenous group. (26 likes) Proving that even if money can buy hype, it sure can't buy people's instincts.
