Duella Dvil 10,514
Having such an important achievement and message blocked by the James Bond franchise do you think she will ever do a Bond theme? Pros- -Excellent exposure -Great way to do music dissimilar to album that she may be promoting, or a great track to add to an album for, again, extra advertisement. -Excellent way to push boundaries visually and musically again, she can do anything with the track just compare Madonna's, "Die Another Day," Shirley Bassey's, "Goldfinger," and Paul Mccartney's, "Live and Let Die": all completely different songs. All differently received Cons- -If the track isn't well recieved critically INSTANT comparison to the loss she experienced with Sam -Could look like an attempt at being tryhard, again, if it doesn't go over well. If it fails she would look like she's just trying to get an oscar through a formula already used by Sam and Adele (recent competition in current memory) So. In your opinion, should she? Let's get it crackin'!! www.instagram.com/theduella666
Miky 9,491
I don't care about any negatives: if the song is good and she's happy making it and performing it, do it. Too many people here with moral superiority complex.
Iwontell 7,312
Maybe she could do it...but not very soon... The comparisons, the speculation about the reasons, all that would take the focus away from the song itself... ATTENTION: (bad) jokes and sarcasm are still a thing, so don't take everything I say literally. Thank you.
freebit 6,240
I want her to stay far away from the Bond franchise (as it is currently anyway). The movies have become so joyless and thus don't suit her music at all IMO. Plus, I have a feeling she'd get dragged for doing the theme regardless of quality just because she's Lady Gaga. If there were to be a reboot and they went with a different vibe, maybe.
Varo Yan 2,984
No, maybe she should record another great soundtrack for movie, not for documentary film. I read somewhere that in Oscar history only 1 (or 2) song won Oscar

froot 659
I would rather have Lana do one, her voice is just right tbh! feel the fever
Sunday 2,183
Honestly, I don't want her to have anything to do with the Bond franchise.
ViviLittleM 3
I think her next soundtrack will be her collab with Paul McCartney that we are still waiting

Because TIHTY was so joyful And I think I can picture the "vibe" you're thinking about but that's been over since the 80's with the last few Roger Moore Bond films. I think Bond 25 is the perfect time for her to do it. The last year, she's been impressing people with her voice so I don't think there will be a lot of criticism just because she's Gaga. It just needs to happen. 52 minutes ago, Uncle ARTPOP said: -Excellent way to push boundaries visually and musically again, she can do anything with the track just compare Madonna's, "Die Another Day," Shirley Bassey's, "Goldfinger," and Paul Mccartney's, "Live and Let Die": all completely different songs. I consider the somber song as somewhat outside the norm for Gaga. Yeah, the Bond of the 70s and 80s seems like a relic, but there is a way to inject fun into a modern action film (most Quentin Tarantino movies for example). There was backlash amongst the media and fans who seemed to have a problem with Sam Smith even (and before that, Jack White and Alicia Keys). Even though she's displayed her talent so many times, Gaga is still not universally liked. There are still stubborn people (older straight males especially) who automatically dismiss her and her pop music on the outset (not that this should stop her from taking on projects, but it's a reality we have to deal with). I think the next one won't be as dark as the last few. They just finished up a long story line and the have room to make a lighter one. Unless they pull a On Her Majesty's Secret Service with the woman from Spectre But if its amazing, and we all know Gaga can write amazing songs, the Bond fans who dismissed her will definitely turn around on that. Sure, at first, some people will be against it but they'll still go see the movie. And if the song is amazing and the visuals in the title sequence are really good, they will forget all about their early criticisms. I think there's more to gain than there is to lose. RAMROD 109,592
You guys, a Bond theme shouldn't always be somber and mellow so long it captures the theme of the film. Aside from Bassey's, one of the best Bond soundtrack and a fan favourite is by Duran Duran, and that song is upbeat. Another one is by a-ha and it is another upbeat song. And an American, Tina Turner, with Goldeneye, which also an upbeat song. As for American singers, listen to Nancy Sinatra, Louis Armstrong, Garbage, Sheryl Criw, and Chris Cornell, they did good Bond soundtracks. So, if Gaga do it one day, she can do it whatever way she likes, being somber is simply one direction of many, not the dead end.
