It is a masterpiece. I love messy, chaotic, random pieces of art. In a way I can relate to ARTPOP.

I even got the album tattooed on me

I do like ARTPOP, it is good album to me, but again she previewd one to many songs, the way she did to BTW.

Releasing them individually on iTunes and let a fan radio show premiered a snippet of one of them.

So when the album out, there are lesser songs to be excited about, that is the difference between AP and BTW.

With BTW, it still got plenty more songs to listen to since it was a long LP if one get the deluxe version.

When is listen to songs from ARTPOP they almost make me uncomfortable, i guess it is because i had shitty several months when it came out and i am asociating the album with it. I do not think that it has bad songs, but i do not like them.

You can not hide if nobody pays attention to you :*

I can't really listen to it anymore, I wish it was an EP with only Aura, Venus, G.U.Y., Do What U Want, ARTPOP, Swine, MJH, Gypsy, Applause

Yes! It's her 2nd best album after TFM :gaycat:

ARTPOP is an exquisite album. Easily the best pop album of 2013.

It's just I know that sacrifices were made by Gaga for her record label to change her art and make it more pop.

Songs like Aura, Sexxx Dreams and Swine were butchered.

So in a way the album is a bittersweet one for me. I listen to it when I am angry and it releases me.

But I can't help think of what might've been...

Original "Aura"

Original "Swine"

Original "Sexxx Dreams"

Oh well. Can't stay mad forever. Still love ARTPOP and will always love it.

It's her second best work behind Born This Way. It has the edge, expansive production, and melodic assurance that her first two albums (although fabulous) were lacking.

I have mix feelings towards it.

On one hand I find them all very catchy, on the other I find them to all kinda hard to relate....like they don't feel as personal as Born This Way. I find that I have this relationship with songs from TFM to BTW but I don't get this pull from ARTPOP. I just don't find them as memorable.

TBH I really don't know why I have a fall out with the album. I know one reason is the noisy EDM production that makes my ears tired after a while. I prefer dance music, 80' s dance or europe dance even better (that's why TFM is always my favorite) It could also be because she performed most songs live at the Itunes festival and they sound too good that when hearing the studio version the sound just fell flat.

Cause once you let it go you better know it's gone

Mister Gaga

I love it. It's TFM little sister, as she said. Applause and Paparazzi; Swine and Monster...they're not really different.

Each song holds a very special meaning imo. And add the fact that the productions are ****ing flawless!!

No. During the pre-era I had high expectations for it. It was going to be my first full era as a Stan. I'm not gonna lie, but I was a bit disappointed. The songs sounded very recycled to me & I didn't see Gaga take risks from an artist's standpoint. EDM was the trend at the time so I'm pretty sure she followed it. I'm very sure Gaga agrees with this. Not that it's a bad album, but I know she can do better. I hardly listen to it, maybe only like once every couple of months. With that being said, I really hope LG5 is her best album. My advice for her is to follow her gut & make the music she wants. Don't follow trends, make something new!

Yeah, I've always liked it. I have some issues with it but it's not really a bad album, it's just annoying that it could have been better.

But ARTPOP does sound good. Gaga knows that, DJWS knows that and ARTPOP fans know that. Music is subjective yes but perhaps y'all should try to understand from the artist's perspective instead of dismissing it without putting effort in appreciating the beauty (which exists evidently) at all.

I'm already done defending the strengths of the album tbh. :wtf: I've spent so much time and effort to explain ARTPOP but it's like I''m talking to a wall. Why bother for "BTW rejects" kind of comments?  The important thing is that you understand and enjoy it, no one can take that away. It's not possible for everyone to connect on a deeper level with the album cause it's simply not easy to digest. Hell, I've had this contradiction for years, before I realised that the reason I bonded with AP is not because I like the EDM style of the music (which still holds true) but rather because Gaga has never really revealed herself more personally, exhibiting vulnerability, a damaged human in pain. I was able to identify with her for the first time and it became a very special thing for me.

Do many members cringe at me? Probably yes. :laughga: But it's alright. What I find particularly amusing is how certain people can't make up their mind on the album. On the one hand, they complain it's too complex, and just off with the music, so they want something more real, relatable. On the other hand, they say it's too basic, lacking orginality and fell short of expactations, and Gaga's potential in general, so they want something more meaningful and deeper. The thing is, ARTPOP is such a hybrid (pun intended) :gaycat: On the outer shell, sits amazing party music, that doesn't need to be more than just that. The origins, the inside is a very dark stuff, which if one recognises can realise how genius Gaga was to make the record. But still the questions remains, if you don't want to be bothered with the concept and backgrounds of ARTPOP, why not just take it at face value? It's like people here can't  have fun and be positive.  :awkney:
