lego 44,165
About two thousand people rallied Tuesday evening for Sgt. Elor Azaria, an Israeli army medic who was indicted for manslaughter for shooting a wounded Palestinian assailant to death in Hebron last month, chanting slogans like "He's a hero" and "Release the soldier." In anticipation of a protest in Tel Aviv, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu urged Israelis on to "lower the flames" on the controversy. "The IDF defends its soldiers. I am convinced that the examination of the event in Hebron will be done responsibly and rationally," Netanyahu said during talks with Singapore's prime minister in Jerusalem. An Israeli band, Subliminal, and a singer, Moshik Afia, were to perform at the protest planned for Tel Aviv's Rabin Square against the prosecution of Sgt. Azaria for last month's shooting. Two other singers have already cancelled previously announced plans to appear. Opposition leader Isaac Herzog urged the soldier's family "not to turn this difficult and complicated incident into a campaign against the IDF." "This is a protest by the far right with the aim of weakening the IDF's values. It's not for nothing that no cabinet member is attending the event. " Herzog said the rally has "characteristics of sedition against agreed norms which we must all respect particularly at this time." http://www.haaretz.com/israel-news/.premium-1.715307?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter&v=9B8282EF587A32426AEC308F955EEE5A FreePalestine

Difficult and complicated? The person was clearly subdued and had surrendered. Killing him is simply ruthless, a fulfillment of some personal vendetta, and frankly a crime. I'm all for the Israel's right to defend itself, but this was not a defense. I hope the people in the rally are misinformed. Otherwise, they're all indicative of something called blind zealotry. And those people will say later "but in Gaza they celebrate and protect murderers too".. well bitches, if the other side is doing it too it doesn't make it right and it's putting both in the same boat of hate and stupidity.
