From what I'm getting from these articles is that another Arab speaking person overheard this guy's conversation and it alarmed them, so they alerted a flight attendant. He used words that caused alarm to this other person that reported him, so he and his baggage were taken off the plane and searched and he was questioned by agents. His ticket was refunded and allowed to get on another flight eight hours later. 

If you are on a plane and someone reports that you are using "potentially threatening statements" in any language, you will be pulled off and searched. Could someone make up something about another person on a flight? Of course, but that can happen to anyone at anytime. Out of the roughly two million people who fly in the US EVERY day, 365 days a year, these occurances are a minuscule minority. There is a 99.999999999 per cent chance you will be fine.

He just said Inshallah  If that person really was an arabic speaker they'd know it means 'hopefully' (plus, it's not islamic at all. I'm catholic and so are most of the people I know and we all use it). They probably just heard the word 'allah' and lost their ****.

Can you imagine if we talked the way we do on GGD on an airplaine  We'd all be kicked off for 'potentially threatening language'

Yes, that's what he is saying he said to those interviewing him. The person who reported him said that he used language that was potentially threatening. That's what the airline reacted to. 

Nah, you wouldn't be kicked off for saying "yaaaasss Queen" and "my bussy is ready"...but you might get some weird looks! Lol

I don't know who it is, as the airline didn't identify them and that person hasn't come forward to give an interview like the guy who was taken off the plane. 

I don't know what he said, just going by what the person making the complaint said. These situations are going to be he said, she said, he said...unless someone just happened to be filming a conversation on their phone. When this happens, the airline is going to investigate. 

Close to sixty million people fly in the US every month. There are going to be these situations from time to time, but they are rare.

Honestly, if I heard someone say sketchy things in Arabic I'd probably report him too.

But this wasn't the case here. As I understood it, the guy says he heard someone say "Inshallah".

Its literal translation is "If God wills it", but it is actually a metaphor and is functionally equivalent to "I hope so" in English.

What an overreaction

People just don't know that "Allah" is not a Muslim word and is basically a linguistic variation of the original word for "The God" used in biblical times

Read it again, the guy who was searched said that he said "Inshallah". The person who reported that they heard alarming language didn't say that.

I'm saying Ya Allah and Yalla all the time.. and I'm not Arabic or Muslim, it doesn't mean that I worship allah and I will bomb something every time I say them
