Gaga should be given more credit for her influence on Pop Culture

When Gaga broke into the music industry,she took the world by storm.She set many trends in the music industry,causing the other popstars to up their game.There used to be a lot of articles about her influence on the Pop culture but I don't see them anymore,so I decided to make this thread to keep us reminded that Pop culture is indeed her bitch  

1.First of all,it was Gaga who started the trend of wearing eccentric costumes.On a visual level,she changed things up for female popstars.She broke the mould of a pretty pop singer in a dress, upped the stakes for how a popstar could present themselves.Gaga is usually a tastemaker in the fashion world-she goes where others wouldn’t dare.Katy Perry,Rihanna,Nicki Minaj,Beyonce',Kesha were all inspired by Gaga's fashion.Billboard calling Nicki-"The Lady Gaga of Hip Hop" proves this.

2.Gaga was the first artist to name her fanbase.I'm not sure if she was the first artist to do this but she surely made it mainstream and rest of the music industry followed this trend.Every mainstream singer/artist has a name for their fanbase these days-Katycats,Navy,Swifties,Beliebers,One Directioners,Arianators,Lambs,Beehive/Beyhive and it's all because of Gaga. The relationship she had with her fans was exceptionally close and she was/is(?) consistently in contact with them via social networks.

 

3.Gaga’s ability to create event videos like 'Paparazzi, ‘Bad Romance’, ‘Telephone’ and ‘Alejandaro’ made people excited about pop videos ,something that now has become common and crucial part of the pop marketing strategy.Katy's TD era videos are a great example of hopping on this trend  

 

 4.Let's not forget to credit Gaga for bringing contemporary ‘dance’ music on to mainstream music.Before 2008,it was all about RnB and Hip Hop but Gaga broke the norms and paved the way for dance music.David Guetta and Will.i.am should be grateful to Gaga for this favour  

 

5.Gaga has repeatedly fought for LGBT equality since the earliest days of her career, taking every opportunity to voice her support in interviews, during acceptance speeches, and  in televised performances.She used her position to speak about marriage equality,bullying,body issues,even released a song dedicated to the misfits of the society and launched a non profit organization. Let's be real,she stoop up for these issues way before it was trendy  

 

6.Born This Way's first week sales led to change in Billboard chart rules(because of iconic $0.99 Amazon deal).Gaga also inspired change in Grammy rules for Best New Artist.(The rule change allows previous Grammy nominees to be eligible, as long as the artist hasn't released an entire album and doesn't win.)

 

Honorable Mentions-She was the first person to hit 30 million followers on twitter.
-She was the first artist to reach 1 Billion views on Youtube.She achieved this milestone in 2010,when streaming wasn't a big thing.

 

She has been able to successfully marry music, fashion and culture, making herself a truly visual expert.Love her or hate her but it's impossible to ignore how significant Gaga is,not only in the cut-throat music scene,but also in the fashion industry.

She had a massive impact on pop culture throughout 2009 2010 2011 2012 and 2013 arguably but the last few years no one really has been taking inspiration from gaga to a big scale its sad she needs to come back and be cool again and a trendsetter again she has been non existent on the pop culture landscape for 3 years. Don't forget that she was the first to take fans onstage and read their personal letters, giving them attention and recognition. No mainstream popstar did this before, ever, and now we see Katy, Nicki, Adele... Taking fans on stage.

Oh and spending long times signing and taking pictures with fans at the front of her appartment, who ever did this before? No body.

I agree with all of these. But listing down all her impacT just makes us look delusional. I'm not saying we are, but posting this else where would get you bashed. At the end of the day, many people don't get credited for their impacT. At least, us, monsters know the real story.
