Was "Kiss It Better" just a filler single?

I think KIB is amazing but I bet many people skip slow songs and don't often seek them out on radio, etc. like they would with more party friendly music.

KIB is definitely a better song but the commercial element of Work and it being sort of the album release single probably meant it had a higher budget.  Rihanna was supposed to sing KIB at the Oscar's I thought, so it would have had more visible promotion then, but perhaps it is a sleeper hit like Ghost Town was for Madonna and it is still growing.

Probably, she hasn't even promoted it. :air: I think she released it because it was a fan fav.

She should have waited a bit. Work is still so big that probably the GP don't know the second single is out. It probably will be a sleeper hit, bc  it has potential (one of the best songs off anti) and bc no matter how much messy things could be, gp is always here for RiRi

Well it is rising on the pop radio chart, so that might be the case. However, I doubt her record company would want to wait that long for it to become a sleeper hit. They might just move on to the next single.

I think everyone expected it to smash...in the same way, a lot of ppl expected Work to fail when it first came out and look how well it's doing...

Sia is the new Kylie Mingue. Selling albums all over the world except the US. To bad I love them both. :toofunny:

You guys are too quick to call a single a flop. Not all Rihanna singles went to the top 10 in like 2 weeks. lol my gawd for people that follow chart history you should do a better job. It's been two weeks since even the video came out. My gawd. :awkney:

Kiss it Better is honestly such a gem. There's something so timeless about it and so sexy and sad. I honestly hated the MV at first but tbh that's exactly what i picture for the song. Simple and stunning.

Sia has had very decent sales in the US. she opened up with 81,000 copies and has sold almost 200,000 in the US only. 5 years ago that was awful but now getting more than 80,000 on opening week is just good luck.
