Europeans know good music when they see it. Applause is KPOP trash.

I think that's the case because, like other people said, it was just ahead of the popular music curve. That, and it was/is really different from much of her music she has released and made. It has a catchy melody, it's different from Gaga, it's relatively simple, but still powerful (usually the trademark of any Gaga hit), and on top of all of that, it felt very new by blending the R&B and electronic stuff. White Shadow and the person he worked with the beat on did a great job. If nothing else, ARTPOP shines by having some amazing instrumentals and DWUW is among the best.

LOOOOL

did you guys even bother using a calculator to see that these receipts have false total count

first of all DWUW only outsold Applause in the UK from the sales presented

second of all the total of Applause sales is 620K if you add up the values shown

while adding the DWUW sales will give you 610K

so what gives tbh , where are these totals coming from ?

This is so shocking because applause is like a 9/10 song while DWUW is like a 2/10

Just, no.

DWUW is a dope song. One of Gaga's best. This one deserved to be the first single.

I live in Ireland, and on Saint Patrick's Day my friends and I were all drinking in this field near a botanical park. There was a huge group of punks/jocks/you name it about 500 yards away from us with booming speakers. We decided to join them, and by the time it got dark EVERYBODY was singing along to Do What U Want.

It's a great ****ing song, it speaks to an age group who aren't necessarily Gaga fans. (Believe me, more than half of those people all sitting around smoking and drinking didn't know Applause.)

If you listen to the concept demo on YouTube it's clear that Gaga had more ideas for Applause, and if it had been entirely up to her I bet more of you would love it even more. The label was just being a bitch and killing her vibe.

If you don't have shadows you're not standing in the light.
