You can't have the media regarding you as "the next Mariah Carey" aka the female with more number ones than any female.....and then deliver Focus....and then an OK song like Dangerous Woman. Your music has to be epic. Vocally. Relatable. Consistently. For multiple albums. BTW was EVERYWHERE but it isn't a strong enough song like Bad Romance or Poker Face to warrant that much play. Plus, she was talking and doing some weird **** around then that turned people off. But Focus was simply Problem Lite. It was more of the same but less catchy. Although I agree with you that Ariana needs to fail, or disappear for a while, before attempting a comeback. Still, TEOG was a worldwide hit, and it was something new and fresh from Gaga. The GP was there for that Gaga. Maybe Judas would have worked as the 3rd single, idk... Releasing that song on easter, with that video was like screaming for backlash and controversy. And she succeded it was not different imo; the same strategy of Alejandro and the same song structure of Bad Romance... Focus suffered the same fate! I think she needs to find her own sound and drop the sexual but cute persona because it's not working for her. She has talent (not to be the next Mariah Carey, obviously but a lot more than the average singer in the industry) so I hope everything works for her.
