It's their capacity to switch the Congress to the Democratic side so we can get **** done anyway and appoint SCOTUS judges that will support progressive policies that Republican judges have been blocking for so long. Even independents who support democratic values but hate the establishment should be well aware that the Republican policies run counter to many of their beliefs. That many fail to see this goes to show how shortsighted most young people are. There's more at stake here than sending a message. Not voting for the Democratic nominee is functionally equivalent to voting for the Republicans. This is what is ****ed. You literally just admitted the problem. Our supreme court is not supposed to be an activist court. They interpret the law, not make it. But you basically admitted you want a court that just enforces policies according to their will. It's impossible not to be. They are still humans. The entire point is that the president can choose to nominate judges that are more amenable to their own social policies. For example, the Republicans are known for selecting judges who are virulently anti-gay. Democratic nominees want them not to be as such. Please, educate yourself. I am not insinuating you are stupid. I am insinuating you are misinformed. Again, learn the difference, and stop taking every post I make so offensively. I may be critical of Bernie here, but that's only because Bernie supporters feel the need to attack Hillary every chance they get. I literally don't even talk about him outside of GGD. I know everything I say can be used against the eventual democratic nominee. I like Bernie and I would support him if I was American and younger. I share his principles, but I don't share his practices. I'm a pragmatist who believes in compromise and that's what Hillary represents.
