As long as they're keeping their "laws" to themselves and the people who follow then are the ones who choose then I don't see a problem. But I guess with all the worry about extremists and what a community could breed, I can see why it's worrysome to some. I think segregation is problematic of course, but of a group of people want to be segregated what can you really do? Human generated art

They live according to their own laws, segragated communities etc. They're obviously talking about laws of marriage, divorce, inheritance etc. Don't religious (orthodox) Jews want the same? Some Christians too, like Jehova's Witnesses. I guess to an extent, but jewish culture is largely assimilated into New York culture and there are no neighborhoods in which non-jews are not welcome... Um, and (il)legalization of homosexuality? They'd surely kick a kid out for being gay and contribute to the homeless youth population, or beat the sh*t out of them. We need to be pushing harder for westernization of segregated communities in western countries tbh. Draconian views of homosexuality (not talking about marriage, but fundamental right to just be gay) and women's rights have no place in western countries. Well the only difference is that there are no Christian and Jewish communities like the ones Muslims have created in the UK where only Muslims are welcome and women walk around completely covered and they reject the authority and legitimacy of UK law and instead have sharia. Another fundamental difference is that Jewish and Christians have pretty much completely assimilated in the West and even the most religious Jewish/Christian communities are becoming increasingly assimilated and becoming more liberal everyday on the role and rights of women and gays. You simply cannot make the argument that Christians and Jews reject western values in the same way that Muslims do in these particular communities that foster dangerous fundamentalist leaders like Anjem Choudary. In Western European countries it's mainly coming from Muslims. Of course also from other groups, but one group is dominant. There are no cases of honour killings in European Jewish and Christian communities.

When these happen in Christian and Jewish households it doesn't become a labeling matter of religion. avalon x 4,200
I'll take the liberty to express my opinion on the aforementioned points (since I'm a Muslim, not a great one but okay ) even though this is GGD and not IslamDaily. I don't care what the British or the other countries are doing but if they're bothering other people, they're not doing it right. • One in five Muslims in Britain never enter a non-Muslim house Extremism at its finest. There is no such rule in our religion as far as I know, I didn't even know about it until now. • 39 percent of Muslims, male and female, say a woman should always obey her husband This is true BUT "obey" in the sense that she should listen to him not do every single thing he says AND the husbands are also told to be good to their wives and to protect them. "The most perfect in faith amongst believers is he who is best in manners and kindest to his wife." as said by Muhammad PBUH. They are also given tons of rights. • 31 percent of British Muslims support the right of a man to have more than one wife Yes BUT with the consent of his first wife and all the wives MUST be treated equally (including all the children) and he needs to be able to support them. “but if you fear that you shall not be able to deal justly (with them), then only one” And equally in all senses like in terms of spending, clothing, spending the night with them and other material things that are under his control. They are allowed a maximum of Four btw, not infinity. This page has more info on why its a good idea and what not. • 52 percent of Muslims did not believe that homosexuality should be legal This... is true BUT (and I've done tons of research on this ) Islam only prohibits **** sex because it's said to be unhealthy (It's also something that seems normal to us now but was unimaginably forbidden in the past.. kind of like Gaga ) and same-sex marriage is prohibited because they think every man has a woman that's his soulmate. Let's just stick that line with the Opinion tag Even I don't wanna get into it. I'm sure they have their reasons for it just look it up if you want to know. • 23 percent of Muslims support the introduction of Sharia law rather than the laws laid down by parliament Because England is not a Muslim country? I don't even know what Sharia Law is. TO CONCLUDE and this is the most important part of my post tbh, Islam is a really misunderstood religion. Most of the things are taken out of context or misinterpreted and the problem with a lot of Muslims right now is that they're following one part of the religion and NOT the rest. The true practice of Islam, which is peaceful and encourages kindness towards everybody, is fading day by day and hence people have less of an idea about what Islam is actually about. All the rules in Islam have some logic and reason behind them and are meant to make the lives of the people better. There ARE extremists in Islam and there are those who are just doing wrong in the name of Islam but that doesn't make them true Muslims. We are not supposed to provoke people from other religions in any way, we are NOT supposed to shove Islam down other people's throat and force anyone to follow it, that is wrong. "To you your religion and to me mine." is one of the things that is mentioned in Islam. P.S I'm just trying to bring more sense to the plate regarding Islam, no shade and such to any other religion or person. Peace!

The WBC is not gaining thousands of members a day and is a church of 12 people in the middle of nowhere and they are not calling for Christians to violently protest. You're logic doesn't make any sense. These segregated communities are extremely a "Muslim problem", much like fundamental terrorism, and they are dangerous. If anything, I kind of like it... the same way there are gay villages etc. The issue is however that these areas are wrapped in poverty and often have extremely high crime rates when compared to other areas. These aren't areas that are thriving (for example when the gays tend to take over an area, house/flat prices tend to increase over time etc.), but areas that are slowly ran down until other residents nearby leave causing more segregation. Or better yet, Gentrification of ethnic neighborhoods occurs (Come on Gays ) ~~~ Maybe part of the reason this happens is cultural, in which case, I don't really see a problem with it. Sometimes those groups feel they must seclude themselves because their culture and traditions aren't in line with the majority's culture, or because they feel they will be judged and persecuted for their beliefs (and they are often right, America is ignorant AF ) 私自身もこの世の中も誰もかれもが, どんなに華やかな人生でも, どんなに悲惨な人生でも, いつかは変貌し, 破壊され、消滅してしまう. すべてがもともとこの世に存在しない一瞬の幻想なのだから
