Why has Katy Perry more views than Gaga on YouTube?

First things first: I'm not a hater. I like Katy Perry, I'm not jealous, just curious to know. Also, I'm asking you not to be hateful! Thanks

Does anybody have a clue of why Katy has more views (in general) than Gaga? Gaga has always been more famous (especially before 2013) and her hits are (used to be) more successful. Maybe I'm wrong because I'm not American, but here in France, Gaga is way more famous (most elders know her ) than Katy. I thought that maybe it's because Gaga's mv are longer but that's not actually true as Poker Face (which is one of her most massive successes WW) is only reaching 300M these days while Wide Awake, Part of Me or E.T have 400+M.

That's probably because Katy had much more succesive era with her Prism than Gaga with ARTPOP. It also pays off to her older music videos, cause people are checking them out too.

Katy has more No,1 Songs, that are being played at partys because the Songs are known. Katy had a longer tour, and more successful Songs during 2013 that pushed the Views of her Videos. Katy performed at the Super Bowl, which gave her Songs some attention.

Her videos are fun, short and capture the mood of the songs ( I personally don't like any of them but I can see why somebody would). Gaga's on the other hand can be a bit too long, overthought and quite amateurish at times. That and the fact that Katy is more popular.

#BOUGHT. YouTube views can be bought and faked as well, Katy could simply call YouTube, offer them a check and they'll increase the views. There's a lot of that going on. Bad Romance was the first real honest mega hit on youtube by a popstar, since then so many people in music (the singer themself or management or label) buy views because these days views pass as success.

Katy's songs from Teenage Dream and Prism were much more successful than Gaga's from Born This Way and ARTPOP

also Youtube views have been increasing more lately in general. I think if The Fame and The Fame Monster singles were released now and were just as successful they would have much more views as well.

You said it. Bad Romance has +680M views, Telephone, Poker Face & Alejandro have all of them +300M views. Hot n Cold, California Gurls and Teenage Dream are below 200M. 

The problem is that in 2011 Gaga was too overexposed and she kinda alienated her public, so BTW videos didn't receive so much views. Another fact, Katy had 8 Top 3 hits (6 of them reached #1) in less than two years, so she was kinda inescapable. Radio was already saturated of Gaga, after 7 hits in less than two years too, and by the time BTW singles were out, Radio was already snubbing her.

Katy had hits in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 $ 2014. Like Rihanna, there's always new material to watch. Between 2012 and 2016 she released 7 videos. Gaga released only 2.

Katy had 2 monstrous hits in 2013/14 (Roar, Dark Horse), which boosted all her videos. Gaga had only one hit. As Britney, Rihanna and Gaga were kinda dead in 2014, radio only played Katy.
