sipthistea 21,099
The album doesn't even exist, yet you're saying it might be a bigger "disappointment" than ARTPOP. As far as I know, people enjoyed ARTPOP before they even knew about the sales. Then they started complaining.

How dare you foresee LG5 having the potential to be her worst craft? For all we know she could be working on her magnum opus. No, ARTPOP wasnt it. zakariah 11,724
Gaga has NEVER, and will NEVER have any problems with musical quality. It all comes down to personal taste & preference in music. Her only problem is the way she and her team promotes the work, which needs improvement if they want this era to be a commercial success.

IKR?? That's exactly why she hasn't given any details of the album with regards to the sound it will have, album title, lyrics or anything else. If she did, people on GGD, stan Twitter and ATRL would drag her to the pits for it. Everyone these days is just looking for a reason to be negative, dramatic and overly critical about everything Gaga does. I don't blame her one bit for remaining tight-lipped about her album. Most of her so-called fans are a bunch of ingrates who don't deserve sh!t, tbh. 18 minutes ago, Lord Temptation said: It will only be a disappointment to those who are already disappointed. Gaga has won over Hollywood and so the popularity of LG5 will have a cascade effect. Gaga's already done the hard work: proving that she is the most talented singer of our generation. People are curious to see what she does next. MTE, hun. Great minds think alike. I don't care what you think about unless it is about me.
PunkTheFunk 124,557
I KNOW the music will be great. I just know it. She's never disappointed me musically. Yes, she has some songs that I'm not crazy about but I've never been disappointed by them (if that makes sense). Just now, HausofZakariah said: Gaga has NEVER, and will NEVER have any problems with musical quality. Who knows, maybe it'll flop commercially and the lead single will only spend a week at #4, or maybe it'll be lauded by critics as the greatest pop album of the decade. There's no way of knowing and there's really no point in wasting your time & energy worrying about it.
Riot Poof 2,236
That's the spirit, OP! I'm not a woman. I'm not a man. I am something that you'll never understand.

The only standouts were Do What U Want, Applause and the title track EDIT: Dope too. 1 hour ago, Tom Hardy said: None of Gaga albums have disappointed me before (musically speaking). I'm not concerned about the quality of her music. I just hope Bobby promotes the album properly so that it sells decent numbers. 1 hour ago, Mister Gaga said: But what about AURA? Can any of the pop girls make something like this by themselves? What about Venus and G.U.Y? Are they really different from The Fame's tracks? What about Pop/Rock gem MANiCURE? EDM's version of Monster aka Swine? MJH? What about The #1 That Got Away aka Gypsy? I recommend you to EXACTLY, and thanks to ARTPOP we have this: MAYHEM / ARTPOP

The production is largely a brickwall of lowbrow EDM beats and is shockingly amateurish in parts to the point of sounding like first draft demos, the mixing is completely abhorrent and dissonant, there's very little lyrical content or thematic exploration or coherence to the record as a whole, her vocal delivery is really dry on most of the songs.. I can go on lol. And that's not to mention that she broke no new creative grounds either although it could still have been a good album without that. The only way one could be blind to all of this and really believe that people don't like it because it didn't sell millions of copies is if they have an extremely limited musical frame of reference and live in a bubble of pop forums, no offence As for the OP, there's always the chance an album can disappoint but you shouldn't let the self-perpetuating drama generated by the "meltdowns" on this forum dampen your expectations for the album. Yes, she looked like a mess with her fillers the other day, and yes we've had no updates on the album in quite a while, but none of that really means anything. What we do know is that she's in a better place personally than she's been in since the start of her career and that she's got a newfound focus on vocals and authenticity in her music. That doesn't mean the album will be amazing but there's no way in hell it will be worse than ARTPOP lol

Kabexuela 1,184
Do we have an idea what the inspiration will be for the next album? Didn't she mention something about Carole King's "Tapestry" album being an influence to the next sound? Who knows how poppy the album will sound. Maybe it will be an adult contemporary effort. Why are the expectations so high? This album could be her worst work for all we know.. I can just see the tragic meltdowns. The expectations are high because this is a woman who is considered to be the next queen of pop after Madonna. So obviously the pressure is there. First two albums slayed hard, third was OKish but definetely a downfall and then fourth oh well. So using simple logic LG5 looks like her last chance to get back to LG2 level. Dorothy Gale 7,575
Gaga is working with amazing people and I think she knows the stakes this time around and is really focused on creating something amazing. I think it might disappoint some fans, I mean you can't please everyone, but I just hope it tops everything she's done for me.
littlepotter 75,153
I feel the same... They're repeating the exact same mistake they did with ARTPOP and are overhyping it. Will they ever learn?! chaeri pls
