confusion: you just said it yourself, you don't know what she wants with ARTPOP, if that's not confusion IDK what is

forced: from interviews she said she wanted to reverse pop art, instead let art be in the front and celebrate your creativity. She was trying to start a phenomenon but she only achieved it through Applause, Venus, and ARTPOP.

At least I didn't hear anything about being creative, please direct me to which part of which song because I haven't listen to ARTPOP for a while.

I think you've misunderstood that first bit. What Gaga has to say about this album, or what any artist has to say about their albums in general, is enlightening to hear, but ultimately it shouldn't have any bearing on what you, the listener, take away from it. We are the ones who receive it, and either find something worth examining, or we disregard it. For films, music, etc, I tend to forget about the concepts I hear in publicity interviews, and just focus on the movie/album/show itself.

So to clarify: I don't know exactly what Gaga meant with that "art in the front, reverse Warholian" stuff. Over time, I've kind of figured it out, but ultimately it's not important that I understand it 100%. We all have ears, and we're capable of listening to something and interpreting it for ourselves, maybe hearing something that that artist didn't even intend.

tl;DR - I don't know what Gaga intended with the album, I'm not gonna pretend like I do, and that's okay. I know what I believe the album is about, and that is what matters.

To answer your other question: for me, the whole album concerns what it means to be an artist (Aura, Jewels n Drugs, ARTPOP, Fashion!) , to have your work scrutinized/attacked (DWUW, Swine), to embody a new persona as a means of shielding yourself (Aura, MJH, Donatella), and to ultimately find yourself in a business that demands every piece of you (DWUW, Dope, Gypsy, Applause). It's a bit more abstract than Born This Way (which practically shouted from the first track: "THIS IS ABOUT SELF-EMPOWERMENT") but I definitely think there is enough to find even deeper themes than fame or drugs or sex.

I miss the Gaga that hated Hollywood. Really feels like a betrayal of character that she's now the Hollywood front-girl.

Damn right :applause:

I don't know if she's ever been "basic" but I wish she could go back to who she was before. I'm not too fond over this Hollywood version of her.

Lose control. Let go and fall. Do you get the satisfaction?
