REALITY 80,168 Posted April 9, 2016 Share Posted April 9, 2016 This is definitely a step towards the right direction, but it's far from being right. We have to remember that he's first and foremost a religious figure, and his job is to spread the word of Catholicism around and be the head of the Catholic church. While I think it's amazing that he asks people to show more support for the LGBT+ community, he's still against marriage equality and as the O.P. says, thinks that we—and divorced couples—are "irregular situations". That being said, he is without a doubt one of the most, if not, the most progressive pope the church as ever seen, so I'm happy for that. I just hope one day people will look at the LGBT+ as people too and not some sort of alien race. We're humans, we have emotions, we deserve equal rights.
