Lady Gaga’s childhood piano is going on the auction block in New York City next month where it could fetch as much as $200,000.

Julien’s Auctions is offering the piano in its “Music Icons” memorabilia sale at the Hard Rock Cafe New York on May 21.

The upright piano was featured in a 2011-2012 “Women Who Rock” exhibition at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland.

It was purchased by Gaga’s grandparents for $780 in 1966 and later given to her parents. She began taking piano lessons when she was 4, and wrote her first composition, “Dollar Bills,” a year later.

Gaga was born in New York City and spent time during her early music career playing in venues through the Lower East Side. The Grammy Award winner studied at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the singer’s Born This Way Foundation, launched in 2012 to empower youth.

She should of waited till she hits MJ Icon status to do this. I think it is too early for her atm.

But, if it goes to BTW proceeds, that yay!

Cheap thrills

The Grammy museum should buy the piano and put it in one of the museums and it could have six Grammys on top of it with a note book and pen, by the side of the piano it could just give a brief description about Gaga. :woohoo:

I know what you mean, but if it's going to be sold for a cause, to help someone in need, then so be it..

I think that's a pretty good reason.

I don't know... there are plenty of ways to raise money, but there's only one of that piano
