Wait wait wait, just like how Hillary used to be a republican...?

When she was a young adult, fifty years ago. She changed to a Democrat back in the sixties and has been a tireless supporter of the party for over five decades now.

We're really going to compare Hillary's association with the Democratic Party, which has lasted five decades, to Bernie's decision to label himself a Democrat last year?

Okay.

And Ted Cruz is a great choice for president, and John Kasich will win the Republican primary.

:usrs:

I'm talkin' 'bout forever, baby.

Bernie Sanders 9 years ago when people tried to write him in as a Democratic candidate in a senate race:

"It would be hypocritical of me to run as a Democrat because of the things I have said about the party."

Hillary being a Democrat is in no way subjective. She is as progressive as Obama. Are you going to say he isn't a Democrat? All of the issues you listed were stances that the Democratic Party was taking at the time. She has been in line with the Democratic party for decades.

Bernie has been a Democrat for ten months. He is running as a Democrat, but he hasn't been one until he used the party affiliation to benefit him the last ten months.

This isn't a weak attack, it is simply stating a fact. Bernie us using the party affiliation for his benefit only. Clinton has consistently, throughout her career as a politician, been a Democrat who has supported the issues and values of the party and has worked tirelessly to support Democrats in every position of our government.

lmao @ this persistent but weak argument. Stop implying he has no idea what he is doing. Idk why you're coming for him in every thread, but everyone is anti-establishment rn. She is winning thru all her money and it's tired, and needs a nap.

As for Bernie, He's been independent, something more progressive than a democrat. He's had to stoop to lower levels just to get nominated. ☕️🐸 Let me see that time machine of yours to validate your points on how his promises will "never happen".

What Hillary said was accurate. Bernie is using the Democratic Party (an establishment) to run for president. He had consistently denounced the party and Obama, but is now using this established party. He is doing the very thing he is preaching so loudly against. He's being hypocritical.

By the way, Bernie has spent more money per vote than any other candidate, on both party tickets. Hillary is winning because she has the most votes.

Do you live in another country, outside the US or have you never followed politics and how the government works? Being an Independent simply means that you are not affiliated with the Republican or Democratic Party. Independents span the range from extremely conservative to moderate to extremely liberal. Being an Independent does not mean you are more progressive.

As to what would happen or not in a presidential term, all one has to do is look at the history of the past eight years. The gridlock in government has been increasing and is at an all time high the past four years. Bernie's ideas are so far away from anything that would be supported by the majority of Congress, he would be locked down immediately into nothing but a figurehead.

There is no other real way he could run though. Plus he's worked with Democrats for a long time too.

Good for him using 'the establishment' to tear down 'the establishment'

(If you wanna look at it that way)

He could have run as an Independent. Third party candidates run campaigns during almost every election.

Bernie said it:

"It would be hypocritical of me to run as a Democrat because of the things I have said about the party."

He would not have a chance though.

Him running as a Democrat was the only way.

He said this in 1990, a lot could have changed by then, too.

So wait wait wait a minute.  Bernie can change his viewpoint since 1990, but Hillary can't?!  Bernie Supporters have been coming for her left, right, and sideways for positions she took back then.  And she didn't even have a vote on any of them like Bernie Sanders did...

P. S.  I also feel the same way about Bernie that you feel about Hillary right about now.  His supporters make you want to go out & get hit by a semi-truck, but despite that tho.  I will still vote for him if he gets the nomination, because I know all too well what will happen if a Republican gets in office!  :rip:

Everyone is allowed to change their viewpoints.

The issue arises when politicians "evolve" solely out of convenience and then claim to have been "fighting" for certain things from the beginning when it isn't true. Sometimes it's very transparent and comes off as fake.

Bernie is an Independent from Vermont. This is how he's always introduced. He is running as a Democrat because it's the only way he could've picked up momentum in our two party system.
