The Surrealist 27,470
I like her interview with SHOWStudio the most. She sounded so matured and vulnerable like we never seen her before.
hELXIG 43,052
When she cries I cry t's so clear she doesn't care any more about the ratings and charts and sales. I don't know why people keep thinking she cares and she's going to come back and slay the charts. It's obviously hurt her a lot, and this is why I get so passionate when people demand so much of her. It comes across as selfish and spoiled and entitled. If you care bout the artist who makes all your bops, then you care about her happiness, you care about what she cares about, you care about her doing things the way that she wants and creating what she wants. "I just want to be happy" don't we all, Gaga? Don't we all. I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

The Lady Gaga that we knew would never admit to something like "It's not easy to replicate my success" "I sold 20 million records the first time and I can't now" I was happy for her growth though. I think a lot of you miss the point when the rest of us say that she doesn't care about charting. It's that she doesn't create music with the intent of it doing well and being commercially successful any more. When writing, she no longer wants to sit down and think "I like this, but will it chart well? Maybe this will be catchier. Maybe this one shouldn't go on the album. What are people currently interested in? What is selling? I'll write that." Instead she thinks more along the lines of "I like this, who cares if it charts well. It might not be the catchiest, but I like what I've written. This should go on the album because I like it. What am I interested in? What moves me personally? I'll write that." If she does something that she truly wants to do, regardless of what the money-makers tell her to do, and it ends up being successful anyway, then she is still going to be happy about that! If anything that is more reason to be happy! Because people would be accepting her and her art for what it is, and for what she truly wants it to be. Which is so much more beautiful than people accepting music that she wrote and changed with the intent of it selling well. This is why when C2C did well, better than she expected, and her fans still came to shows even though it was fricken jazz music, she was absolutely thrilled. Because she did what she wanted, without worrying about the repercussions, and the risk paid off and people loved her for it! That's why she loved that era so much. That's why it revitalised her spirits. I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

I remember trying to get a feel for her personality and I was absolutely blown away by how articulate and intelligent and kind and funny she was! I remember not being able to click away, even though it was getting really late, and I watched the whole thing. I think that interview is one of the defining moments of me becoming a fan I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.
